hi guys, how do u tell if a diff is 28 spline? is there any codes on it? what's a tell tail sign of a rooted lsd aswell? need quick answers lookin at one this arvo. Thnx in advance Aaron

I think all the borg warner diffs are 28 spline ? Easiest way to check the condition of the LSD is to hold one wheel (or axle hub if the diff has been removed from the vehicle) and try to turn the other wheel, it should be quite hard to do so, if the wheel turns easily the LSD is rooted or it isnt a LSD in the first place. Also don't be fooled into thinking a diff is LSD just coz it has a "High Performance" tag on the filler plug. Ive seen many single spinners with these tags on them.

there are 25 or 28 spline diff centres for the VL

i got the tag number off the diff, and its not on that list that duz360 posted, 92028730, so like just after the last one of 92028729, confusing

being that i cant find out via that code, is there any physical differences i can spot, everything else he sold me seems to match up, 1" master and whatnot, said in came out of a v8 berlina, im gonna get the vin number off him soon to check that out, otherwise im stoked, if it is a v8 diff, good stuff, if it isn't, well i get my rear disc conversion
