Now before you tell me that VL's did not come with a trip computer, I already know this.
But, I also know that that blank on the left hand side of your dash was where the trip computer was going to go and it's even listed in the Holden Parts catalogue, but Holden pulled it before the cars went into production.
Anyhow, a few years back I contacted VDO and after about ten "they didn't make one for a VL" comments, I finally got onto someone who did know about the trip computer for the VL, but I was told even if I paid $10000 it wouldn't be worth their while.
What I'm interested to know is, who out there would be interested in a trip computer for their VL??
If we can get enough numbers, we may be able to get VDO to manufacture these. As for cost, who knows, but we would need a reasonably significant amount of orders to get them to consider making it.
Post here if you're interested and if we get enough numbers, we can try VDO once more.

I think you'd need more than a couple of people interested to make it worth their while, as in hundreds or thousands of people.
Would be cool though!

yeah maybe, depending on cost etc. There is no provision in the wiring harness for a trip computer so im assuming it would require either the whole body harness changed out, or you would manually have to wire it in. Would be interesting to see though. Heard of a few people trying to adapt the R31 trip computer but i dont think anyone has completed it sucessfully.

the blank is located under the passenger side binacle switch for the demister and arial (and rear wiper for wagons )
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
