hey all i done a search on this and all i could gather was the n/a flywheel is the same dia. as the r33. But anyway, i need to know if these flywheels are the same as each other (besides being the same dia.)?? Cz Im planning on installing an r33 gts-t 5spd soon and just need to know if my n/a flywheel will cut it? And also will it be a problem to use a clutch for an r33 skyline with my n/a flywheel??? thanks a lot for this guys much appreciated

you might have to use the spacers on the crossmember like the vlt does

yes i need some more info on r33 box conversion, cant seem to search spacers necessary with r33 box? slave cylinder work with r33 box? which starter works with the na flywheels, just the na manual one? crossmember? r33 speedo cable, does it even have one or is it electrical?

you could use the n/a starter because the flywheels are the same. spacers would almost certainly be necessary because the 33 box is the same size as the MX7. the spacers may have to be custom made, but really shouldn't be hard to make up yourself. slave cylinder i presume would have to be customised using the 33 slave or use an MX7 slave. either way, it will be hard to find one! speedo cables sorry have no idea. i really want a 33 box so if anyone has this info i'd appreciate it to! maybe we should direct osk to this thread because i believe he had one ready to go in?

u have to make up a bracket to mount the vl slave or use a r 33 one, i couldn't get the r33 nismo slave to engage so i made a bracket to mount the vl one!

osk, have you still got that bracket? neil, the na manual starter is the only one i can use with a 9.5 inch flywheel?

pretty sure luke, the na manual uses a 9.5 inch flywheel i believe, and the 10 inch used by the turbo manual uses a different starter. (again, don't take this as gospel, just repeating what i've heard and read in various places)

Yeah. All the RB series setups use the 9.5" flywheel. The only exception is the VLT manual with the 10" flywheel. But I've heard all the ring gear are the same diameter though. I'm about to test this theory out on my R33 box conversion. I plan to use the MX7 starter on the R33 flywheel. See how we go....

Just check the throw out bearing, some are different heights, use the original 1 your clutch used. The speedo is electronic but a MX7 box rightangle cable drive fits if u can find 1... Then the speedo will be out unless u can fit a MX7 speedo drive gear to the main shaft, not as hard as u might think. Or change your diff gears! And the slave cyc has a rubber hose (brake hose) with the right fitting on the end to fit the VL line, instead of the line screwing into the cyc itself. It is 3/4", MX7 is 7/8" so it gives a faster pedel. Don't know what size a n/a vl slave is. Cheers.
