My tail shaft is in need of a rebuild. The uni-joints have lots of play in them and the centre bearing is stuffed as well.
So, I was wondering if all of you folk out there just replace std (turbo spec mind you) with standard parts, or if there are stronger alternates. I run up to 15 psi boost (but not all the time) thru it too.
Ps. Can any of you kind Novocastrians (Newcastle folks) recommend anyone in the area for this kind of work.
Thanks

expect to pay around $450 for rebuilt tailshaft, incl CV joint. to my knowledge there are no cost effective strength modifications and a new one should hold up well for a long time

I just got my tailshaft rebuilt for $300. inc two unis,Center bearing, and CV.
This was between one and two hundred cheaper than most other places i called.
This was with quality parts (jap and italy)- the unis on it (previous to rebuild)were made in Taiwan.
