hey all my diff is starting to clunk a lot, especially on low throttle gear changes in traffic etc. from memory it seemed to have a fair bit of play in it, but i changed the oil recently and theres no metal chunks or anything in there. is there a way to adjust the backlash without getting it rebuilt? I'd like an LSD centre put in at some stage but i'd rather not spend the money on that now. However I dont want to kill this diff either. btw it is a 4 pinion turbo one just not lsd.

The gregorys does tell you how to do it, but I gave up trying to understand it all. My diff is knackered too. I'll have another go soon I guess.

I think you will need to replace shims and probably get the gears lapped if worn that bad. Check that it is not just uni joints.
