i was trying to take that rubber plug off the back of my diff the other day to see if it needs a refill, and the bloody thing wont come off! is there some trick to this? or am i supposed to totally destroy the plug and replace it every time. on the brighter side of things i let a lot of steam out trying to take it off Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

with a big flat head screwdriver you should be able to pry it off

yeah screw driver or get a good pair of pliers and grab the lip on the plug and pull outwards. Does take some strength - maybe you should be visiting the gym :P
