Hey fella's, after a good 3 months of shopping around, running around, and spending 600 bux on NRMA inspections, i found a 87' VL Calais S2 that was made for me. It was love at 1st sight ! I managed to pick it up for a price i thought was really well, after speaking to the owner i was convinced that this car would be something worth looking at and worth the 1 and a half hour drive to go see. So off i went. After checking it out and then taking it for a quick spin, i knew that this car was gonna be mine. I spoke to the owner and we decided on a price if the car was to pass the inspection with no major problems. Inspection day came, after 1 n a half hour of fidding around with the car, the inspector finished the report with minor problems. A small leak in the front radiator tank, 2 worn front wheels, 1 ****ed bush, and abit of rust leaking around under the seal. The back right window wont work but other than that she was sweet. Im the 3rd owner, the previous 2 were 2 older ladies with families(at least i know she hasnt been thrashed). The only thing that really worries me is the amount of KMS its done, it reads 236,000. Its the same engine, never been rebuilt, its the same head never been touched and the car has been serviced regularly. The paintjob and interior are in perfect nick, the only thing id like to do is respray the front gaurd because its got abit of scratches here n there. Anyone that knows what colour that is in the pic, can u please fill me in? I read in another thread its asteroid silver or something? Im not to sure anyone who can confirm would be greatly apreciated. Im slowley gonna work on it, it being the same age as me...17 Years old i cant afford to lose my licence right now so im gonna wait till im almost finished my green P's and im gonna turbo it. For the time being i think im just gonna Put a exhaust on it, Extractors and a killer alarm. Im after some opinions of the car as it is, ive only got 2 pics atm but will have some more up soon. Also i would like to know what would ppl pay for a car like this? If theres stuff ive missed that would assist u in a price, please tell me. I wont say how much i paid untill i get some feed back.
