hey guys
i was just wondering if u drive past a coppa but he doesnt have a radar gun in the car, and he thinks ur speeding, can u still get busted?
i was crusing along at about 80 saw this coppa, slowed down gently, saw him cancle his right indicator, put on his left and then followed my home and gave me a "warning". he said if i get caught speeding again there goes my license. no points or $$$ tho thank god
is this right?
yes i think theyr word counts, cos in the end u gotta realise if it came to court...coppas word vs. regular person....hmmm
but no i doubt that warning u got counts for ****.
he said it was an official warning get caught again i loose my license
surely that doesnt mean get caught speeding again anytime in my life there goes my license
maybe only on my p's
yeh he noted it in my notebook
he tried to **** me over saying the school zone was effective, but it was like 4:10 and the school zone finished at 4. lucky.
hahah then hes like, this a V8 or 6, i say "just a 6"
Bout 6 months ago when i had all my points I was driving along a 80km zone and was doing around 90. Cop comes the other way. Slow the car down really quickly to 80 with my VXSS brakes
Anyway he had a rader on but i magaged to shed of the 10km before he could get me. However he slams the brakes on. Does a u turn and roars up behind me. I slowed right down like i was now doing 60 in a 80 zone. ANd he was an inch of my bumper. We get to where road diverges to two lanes he drives next to me puts his fingers close together and goes you were this ****ing close mate. I just shurgged at him and he roared off. I mean i guess he could have tried to book me but the only reason he followed me was because he saw the frount end of the car come down under heavy braking and most likely the look on my face of "ohh ****".
But my old man got done in his SS a while ago where the cop car was going the other way. He got rapped hard as it was double demerits and he lost something like half his liscense or something. Coppers word against his and there wasn't much he could do as he was fair hammering it when cops came by.
david85dc i think we must be in the same boat. I only have 1 point on my red P's. I could have gone for my greens like 2 months ago but couldn't be ****ed.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
yeah man. i didnt loose any points. i still got 6 left. but he warned me, and i realise how important my license is to me, so just take it easy, and only open up ur car where u know its sweet.
HMmmm Yes they can book you for an estimate and give u a fine....
Although i think they need 2 police in the car at the time to make it stand up in court.
Best one to ask would be BeeJay, shoot him a PM.

One cop can do it
here is something for you guys and gals to dwell on, police cant book you unless they are in full uniform e.g. if they are not wearing there hat they techinically cant book ya or anything!! but hey its not like any of us are gonna say the the police officer "u cant book me because u dont have ur full uniform on bitch!!!" lol, they will just go back to their car and get their hat and give us a bigger fine!!! lol

An absurd load of BS.
And Midz: courts vary of course ( case by case and day by day) but a Highway Patrol cop would generally be classified as an expert re determining speeds so his/her estimation would generally be seen as proof.
And there simply doesn't HAVE to be more than one cop for this to stand up in court.
