First of all.. G'day all. This is my first post on this forum. Ive only recently (3 weeks now) bought a 1986 VL Commodore. It's in pretty good condition, mostly stock except for the 2.5" Exhaust. I've done a few things here and there, but nothing mechanical as I'm not very good with my hands when it comes to cars, so I'm employing the help of friends and paying the $$$ to have jobs professionally done. I'm interested in having a turbo installed in my car, to give it some more grunt, but the only knowledge I have of an engine, is how to check the oil, and fill up water/radiator reserves. So I was hoping someone on here could give me a list of things I need to start looking for. I'll buy them one at a time over a period and then pay to have them installed. Any suggestions are always welcome, as im usually not too strong headed.

i reckon the cheapest and easyest way is to buy a full RB30ET and drop it in. u will need a stonger gear box and diff as well and brakes. u might as well sell ur car, pay a bit extra and buy VL turbo man. unless u like head ****s...

good words of advice there! save 4-5 grand and sell your atmo car, then buy the original turbo car. there is a LOT of stuffing around and extra costs in a properly done conversion.
