Hi All, I recently upgraded the front brakes on my VLT BT1 to the 330mm vented / slotted rotors and R32 calipers from Bigger Brakes (I'm a big fan now by the way - awesome upgrade - do it - you wont regret it!)... ......but now I have these old dBA vented and slotted rotors (280mm I think) that I used to have on the front and the original VLT front calipers which I've removed. At Sandown today I wore the rear discs down to the metal....and now need to replace the rear pads (and warped discs!!) and I'm wondering will the old front calipers and rotors that I took off the front last week fit on the rear? If so will it be a bolt up, what would be the issues involved? Any advice would be welcome (and I'd be happy to answer questions about the 330mm / R32 upgrade for the front). Cheers, Phil

I have discs on the rear of my BT1 - not sure what you mean by "you have the drum setup for the handbrake"? (maybe I just don't understand enough about how the handbrake works on the existing discs/calipers ;-)

I think he ment buy the hand brake which is still using the drum brake setup within the rotor?!? Try taking of the current calipers and bolt on the front ones see if it fits, nothing wrong with trying hehe.

As OVL087 and VLishes said they wont fit, the front rotors are totally different to the rear ones with the handbrake shoes using the inside of the rear discs.

tks guys - I dug out the workshop manual last night and did some reading and now I understand what you mean. So I've given up on the front to rear swap (just fitting some new pads and machining the rotors :-). Anyone wanna buy some dBA slotted and vented front rotors and calipers in good nic (were running fine on my car until a week ago). $100 for the lot - you arrange freight or pickup. Nissan Datsun Sports Owners Club was the club day on Sunday. Brilliant weather, brilliant day - and the VL went like a ripper. (other than wearing out my rear brakes haha).
