hey, my auto revs like hell as it shifts from 2nd to 3rd, but then again it might just be doing this while still in 2nd, is this possible? either way what could be the problem? would it be diy fixable? would adjusting the bands fix it? i jst wanna get it fixed now as it pisses me off and isnt exactly best for the car

hey dude, im not sure if this is the same thing but when my auto changes from 2nd to 3rd it revs up a bit, say a couple hundred rpm to change, i think it does it for a smoother change? anyway it is really noticeable when the cars warm and uv been driving for a fair while. the way mine is at the moment its not sumthing that is at a point where it feels like its doin sumthing wrong....

From what i have gathered fluid gets directed to the 2nd band servo during 2nd gear (application of band) Fluid gets directed away(actually thru the servo) from the 2nd band during 3rd gear (relase of band) If its only doing it 2-3 im guessing its the band (either worn,or clearance is WAY off). If u were losing any gear (say 2nd) or 1-2 slipping really bad also.. i would look at a hydulic(sp?) problem. so check the band is correctly torqued and then VB is working properly. If its anything more then that just drive it how it is or replace it coz its gunna cost $$

VB? i got the rest but wot does vb mean? and yes it only does it 2nd to 3rd but its a bit more than just that. the thing is if u listen as i accelerater through the gears you would sware its a 5 speed, at 40 it revs out then shifts into gear, still kinda revving a little high, then at 50 the revs drop again as if its shifted to another gear, then overdrive at 65, so yeh, it might just be a big problem, wot u reckon? could it be slipping a little all the way up to 50 then grabbing on? its been like this for a while now so im guessing its not gonna die any time soon, could it get much worse?
