I want to fit 400cc flowing Injectors to my VLT.
1. Is this a good idea?
2. Will this affect my fuel economy?
3. If the 400cc are not the go, then what would be a better injector?
The only mod to my RB30ET is a Intercooler. Thanks Guys.

Yes it's a good idea.
Economy is affected by most mods that give you more power, especially fuel related ones!
But, when you are cruising economy should be the same, if not better when tuned well.
Which brings me to my next point; You need aftermarket ecu to run these injectors.
or re-mapping(not worth it)

If you only have a cooler, and around 12-14psi boost, you do not need them. They will give you no increase in performance whatsoever. I can't understand why people want bigger injectors in the belief it will instantly give more power.
The only time you need bigger injectors is when they are maxed out or close to 100% duty cycle.

Thanks, sigmund.
aaaaaaaaa Ok I didnt want to change the ECU.
What's the best flowing injector for my set up? For fuel economy!!
MonstaS4, I'm not looking for performance. Just a better injector to the turbo one's. Thats why asked the question, before jumping in and buying the wrong injector

The best flowing injector for your setup is the standard one. An injector is just an electrically controlled valve so i can't understand why you want a 'better' flowing one.

Because the STD injectors, for new ones are expencive. Second hand and it gets dodgy. There are aftermarket ones out there i.e. Volvo, Merc ect. That will fit the VLT. I'm trying to find out which ones would be the best for me.

So you've had the standard injectors cleaned and flow tested?

I have after market injectors fitted. I brought 6 VLT injectors off thie forum, then fitted the to make shore they were alright. 3 leaked. So I have the after market ones back in now.
I want to get better injectors that dont leak, so I can have them cleaned, flowed and fitted.

12-10-04, 12:19 GMT+10#10 So the aftermarket injectors you have back in the engine also leak? I'm just trying to understand why you want another set of injectors. As sigmund said, anything different to standard will need an aftermarket ecu.
When you say 'better', do you mean better quality? If so, then i'd say your only option is to fork out the coin for genuine injectors if your not happy with aftermarket ones.

Ease up on the right pedal a bit then
Seriously though, if you have the injectors flow tested, and all are within 5% of spec then the injectors are not to blame - a sensor is telling the ecu to add more fuel.
Have you checked the resistance in your AFM?

13-10-04, 14:24 GMT+10#16 I have everything checked on the car. The next step is the injectors, then a full wire. Most sencors have already been changed.
But I dont want to go to over board as I'm going V8 once I have fitted the Walkie kit.

15-10-04, 21:42 GMT+10#19 Don't go putting bigger injectors in if your not after more performance.
I run Bosch 036's, and then had to run aftermarket ECU to run them, Fitted and tuned your looking at around $2500, plus the price of your injectors.
Your fuel economy would have to be real bad before you started saving any money.
Fit a decent / New set of VLT injectors if you must change them.
FTR, I return about 300km per tank on the 036's, but it is tuned with fuel economy a 'Very' distant second to Performance, as I imagine anyone spending that kinda dollar on an injector upgrade would
