Not sure if this is the right section? but here goes, looking at upgrading my vl turbo injectors and im just wondering how much work is involved in bolting up GTR injectors? Can i use the rb26 fuel rail on the rb30et or wont this work? any advice is good thanx guys..

All I'm going to do with mine is make up some hosetails from EFI hose similar to factory VL injectors and use the VL fuel rail.

gtr injectors are a straight fit
at the bottom of the gtr injector they have a little o-ring. u pull this off then stick the fuel hose on the top of it, tighten the hose clamps up and youre set.
since youre running the microtech, youll have no dramas
TIP: replace all the fuel hoses on each individual injectors, also the fuel rail can be a bitch to bolt back down so make sure you cut the new fuel hose exactly the same length as the old hose

thanx guys, i picked up some GTR injectors on sunday from a local guy who imports stuff for $350 and last nite i pulled my top half of plenum off and pulled my vl turbo injectors out im gonna go and get some efi hose today and some clamps and bolt it all back up!

ok put the GTR injectors in the car and the damm thing sounds like its running on 5 cyclinders is there anychance because ive put bigger injectors in the car it could be missing and over fueling it that much that its only running 5 cyclinders? hrmm strange...

YES!!! it will need to be re-tuned on the dyno.... shouldn't take long though. all the injector's pulse times will be out because the GTR items flow a lot more. there was another thread about this recently i think it was titled "microtech lt-8" or something, a motec tuner i think it was suggested taking out about 30% duty cycle overall just so the car was drivable to the dyno. this shouldn't be hard to do if you have a microtech.

yeah stocky that was my thread about the microtech im running the LT8, well last night i pulled the GTR injectors back out because i needed the car to be driveable around for the next few days and once i get in contact with my tuner ill put the GTR ones back in the day before i get it tuned, i just found it really weird how the car could run so rough and sound like it was on about 4 cyclinders just by putting different injectors in? i would have thought it would run normal like no missing and just blow heaps of black smoke cause of it running really rich.. hrmm?

say your GTR injectors flow twice as much fuel at the same rail pressure and same open time (in milliseconds) as VLT injectors right? so at idle you will have roughly twice as much fuel going into the engine...... it's bound to miss and idle roughly and be very dodgy all round until you get the correct amount of fuel/air mix in there by taking out duty cycle all over the rpm range. in reality a dyno tuner will do it properly, by different amounts all over the fuel map but yeah you get the picture.

Yeah i would guess so spose it doesnt help with the malpassi pumping alot of pressure into the injectors aswell. Well hopefully have it tuned on saturday and ill let you know how it goes.
