This may sound stupid but.. Can anybody please explain to me the difference between an lsd and a vlt diff. I have some idea, that the the vlt diff is not as strong as the lsd but not sure how(if that makes any sense.)
I did a search but couldnt really find anything relevant.
Cheers 'n' beers.
Ok.. so say for example, when my stock N/a came fresh out of the factory compared to a new vlt, They had different diffs. Obviously the vlt with the vlt diff, and the n/a with the single spinner.
So a vlt diff is actually just another type of lsd?
N/A's had 25 spline, VLT had the 28 spline! Not all VLT diffs are LSD it was factory optional at holden when brought new,Except for HDT VLT's they were all LSD from new.
the non turbo diff's are 25 spline 2 pinion and they come in open wheeler or LSD.. it really does depends but most where just open wheelers... they came in either drum or disks..
The VLT/V8 diff was a 28 spline 4 pinion diff. it is stronger then the 25 spine 2 pinion diff. it was found on VL turbos and V8 model VL's it came in either open wheeler or LSD just like the 25 spline 2 pinion. they come disk only....
