HOLDEN CRUISE NO 2#
WIVENHEO DAM � SUNDAY 31 OCTOBER 2004
Well instead of seeing the same old same old every cruise we go on, this one we�re going to visit some chilling water. YAY. YAY� YAY� So the do will be. We will all meet up at the Springwood PUB car park, the one next to Springwood Macca�s. Have a chitchat and for the ppl with hangovers� u can stop in at the famous macca�s. From here we will move onto the Logan toll road and mossy our way up to Wivenheo dam up past Ipswich. Then we will have some lunch, play some ball and take some pics and stuff. There is heaps of space up there and some awesome spots for photos. Then from here we will make our way through the national park and up the very interesting, turning roads called Mt Nebo� YAY YAY YAY�which will bring us out the back of Brisbane. In which we will part for our own ways home. So all the details are provided below, any questions or concerns please pm me or add me to ur msn ([email removed]) and ask away.

Northside ppl:
9:30- 10:00 for a 10am sharp depart:
Aspley KFC/ Macca�s carpark > Springwood PUB
Southside ppl:
10:30- 11:30
Springwood PUB ( Car park next to Macca�s)
Gold Coast ppl:
9:30- 10:00 for a 10am sharp depart
BP at Coorma. > Springwood PUB
I will be doing the cruise next week, and direction sheets will be handed out on the day.
What to bring:
1.FOOD:
There will be no local shops that u can buy food at the dam .
PLEASE ALL REMEMBER THAT.
There are bbq�s there if u want to cook your own food or u can simply bring food with u. Also please remember to bring whatever it may be that u drunk, water, coke, beer whatever as there is none of this up there either.
2.FUEL: Please whatever u do come with a full tank of fuel, for the ppl coming from the sunny and gold coast this will be a long day for most of you. At the moment there may be one more stop half way for some ppl that are coming from towoomba, if this stop happens it will be at a fuel station, but more than likely it will be more expensive then normal.
3.If the wheather stays the same, it will be hot and sunny, a hat and sunscreen wouldn�t be a bad idea. However just incase its windy � please bring a jacket of some sort,
4.MOST IMPORTANTLY: your attitude.
1.Come friendly and open, everyone is there to have a good time and to meet people so if we can somehow mingle together it would be fantastic for some of the new ppl to meet the oldies.. so don�t be sky or any that crap, no one has claws.
2.Ok driving, well we all know the road rules, if u break them then that ur own fault. But I do ask on this cruise u take consideration for everyone. Just take two seconds, and look who is in front and behind and see if u can make sure that they are at the dam when we get there. We don�t want to get lost. Also the mountain, for everyone that hasn�t been up there it aren�t no mountain like mt gravett or something of the sort, it�s a big drive and its got a lot of sharp corners, the last cruise I went on to here a fella took the corner to quickly it was not good. So be carefull. Also u temp gauge is going to rise� think about it. Please take extra care with this road.
5. CB/ UHF: for everyone without one, get one, borrow one, steal one, who cares.. there are amusing and very good in times of need. The channel will 16

I live on the southside and I will be meeting u at Springwood, so I need someone who can lead from Aspley to Springwood.. u don�t need to have the hottest car or be mr coolest, just someone reliable and will do their best to get everyone from point a to b. if are coming that way and can do that.. please let me know
Also I am also looking for the fella that mentioned something about name taps and some car show talk thing. Sorry I can�t remember your name but I remember u posted a post about it on the Streetcommodores Forum. I really want to talk to u about this, so if u could pm me it would be great.

HAPPPY CRUISING
this is the latest on the cruise.. half of it is repeated but its better to know then not to know.
Ok ppl I have done the cruise and all is set for the damm, it should be a fantastic day for the cruise� so to answer ppl�s questions � here are some of the details about the cruise regarding time and fuel etc�.
Its 196km from Springwood macca�s back to the finishing point at Mt Nebo
Its 109 km heading up and 90km coming down�
It will take approximately an hour to an hour and a half to get to the dam� and we are expecting to arrive at the damm about 12: 45, 1pm
Probably stay at the dam, till around 3pm and then head up mt nebo back into Brisbane. The cruise will end at the shopping centre at the bottom of mt nebo. There is a McDonalds and petrol station at the bottom of the mountain.
For the ppl that are coming from the sunny coast I suggest u fuel up again at either aspley or springwood. Depending on your fuel stop. I will make a stop at fernvale along the way just incase we get lost or ppl need a toilet stop or something like because once we get close to the dam, if u run out of fuel ur going to be in big trouble.
The mountain itself is at least a 45-minute drive. And for ppl that aren�t confident driving mountains I ask that u say in the middle of the pack simply because we don�t want to leave anyone behind and I would hate to see someone brake down during the run as there is absolutely no where to stop.
I know most of you ppl love mountain runs� but I really am begging you to drive carefully � for your safety� also please look out for each other because some people may not be as confident as others�
For the mountain part jaws is going to lead the mountain run simply because I know that some ppl will enjoy it better if there are not stuck behind a slow goat like me.
Also people if someone wants to bring a ball or a football, please bring one, there is plenty of space and it would be good to kick the ball around and everyone get to interact.
I will make directions and give them to everyone at the meeting spots.
For the ppl coming from the north side or the sunny coast the meeting spot will be aspley macca�s/kfc at 9.30- 10 for a 10:00 am depart. Vs- Wagon ( Neil) will meet everyone there and lead to Springwood to meet the rest of us.
Please note in the first post it says meet in the car next to springwood macca�s but I have changed to the carpark behind the Springwood taven because its bigger and easier to get out of. We will leave Springwood at between 11 and 11.30am
For the gold coast ppl Jaws (Brian) will meet everyone at the coomra bp 9:30-10am for a 10:15 depart and we will stop in the emergency section of the Logan motorway and meet everyone there.
The cruising channel will be 16 so make sure everyone has uhf�s or something
Please be alert to, that cars that are extremely low, I do think the roads will be fine for u, they are all proper roads, I mean no dirt roads, but there is two grids that u will have to go over.
What to bring:
Ok we will go through two tolls 1. is 90cents and the other is 2.1.60 so please everyone has that change on u.
I am assuming that the weather is only going to get hotter between now and then, so it will be especially hot.
Also food.. its ur choice what u want to bring. But there is absolutely no shops until u get back down to the bottom of mt nebo. We will stop at fernvale in the main street, there are a few shops and stuff here.. but I really don�t want to sit on the side of the road for an hour.. so please be organized
Feel free to use the bbq�s there� I myself wont be using them cause I am too lazy to cook �
There is also water and toilets there.
Also ppl.. some of u may know that frosty has organized a night cruise for Halloween on the Saturday night from 11pm to 5am.. so I want to know are ppl up to do both cruises or do ppl want it changed to the weekend after� please say whether ur happy to do both or not.
For the ppl that are coming from the sunny coast or a fair distance that are going to do both� we will arrange something for breakfast or something..

holy **** i have bad memories of nebo and glorious, scary **** might have to get darren to disguise his 180 as a commodore for a day just so we can do the mt run again!!
and if neno's car is done by then ill worm my way in somehow cause no way my car will be finished and even if it is i dont think the brakes will handle for the whole run
try to write fake ones take them down there and as you hand it over whisper "there is a guy outside with a gun who said if u dont give him the money he will kill me please save me"
if it works tell me man we will make a weekend of it
oska - get darren out in the driftspec and show these vls how to go up mountains
im either driving or going shotgun in nenos car , actually come to think of it , the way he drives id rather walk.
mmmmmmmmmmmm maybe. Don't know yet. If I can get a gearbox happening I'll be there.
Cos I love mountain rds. They are lots of fun so long as your not stuck behind some bimbo in a Mazda 121.
