soo once upon a tim ei was driving to school for an exam. the weather is terrible, pi55ing down with rain so i have the wipers on full t1t as you would. as i approached the traffic lights at the end of my road i activated the right indicator. as i was coming to a complete stop the steering wheel reached hard lock. as this happend the front, back (vl wagon) wipers stop working and indicators stop working. i continued driving until it got impossible to see in front of the car and pulled over and checked fuses. none had blown so i go in the car and waited for rain to stop. it wasnt my lucky day. rain got worse and i had 10 mins to get to my exam. decided the heck with it and drove off narrowly missing a parked car. then when thinking this trip couldnt get worse my car did its favourite thing of cutting oout at traaffic lights and refusng to start. with a quick fiddle of plugs she fired up and got me to school safely. this problem is weird tho coz the front window washer squirty things dont go, but the rear one does, also the indicator lights work but only when using the hazard switch. I need some answers badly hope full i have narrowed it down for you guys to help. Once again whats working and whats not NOT WORKING 1. Left and right indicators 2. front windscreen wipers 3. rear windscreen wiper 4. front window washer WORKING 1. hazard lights 2. rear window washer 3. all headlights/parkers/highbeam/reverse lights/brake lights cheers guys i really need help so any info appreciated

sounds like your control module could be playing up...I am currently putting a VL Dash into my VC Wagon and those things that aren't working, all travel through your control module, and things that aren't don't run through it except the rear window washer. The control module is basically all the relays and stuff to run the satelite switches. this module is located behind the drivers side kick panel (some can be higher) matter of grabbing one from wreckers and plugging to plugs in. If that doesn't work then...I Cant help much.

Check the voltage before and after fuse 14 with a multimeter. It may look OK but could be open circuit under load. The indicators don't pass through the control module so it can't be that. The control module is supplied power by 3 circuits and one of them is fuse 14. So if 2 are still supplying power, this could explain why the rear window washer still works, yet the front washer/wipers don't.

Get a test light from Supercheap. One end should have an "alligator" clip - connect this to a good earth. Then just touch the pointy end onto either side of the fuse terminal. If the fuse is good, the light will glow both times. If it only glows on one side of the fuse - it's blown.

You use a multimeter to measure voltage in the same way, one lead to earth, other to the point you want to check. A test light will give an indication whereas a multimeter will give an exact figure. A test light is good enough to fault find power circuits. I'd have a look under the dash at the flasher unit for the indicators. Check for power on the brown/white wire. This comes directly from fuse 14 so if there's no power there then it must be a crook plug/broken wire. If there is power......i'll have to think somemore!
