Depends on the type of person who is wanting to buy them... because on an otherwise note I'd say they're actually pretty good reliable cars.

they dont last too long, especially wen a careless chick owns one, chicks tend 2 drive a car however they want without knowing how the car takes it, eg. overrevving constantly and stuff like that, and most hyundais and daewoos dont like that kinda treatment.
but apart from that a brand new stock hyundai elantra comes with 107kW flywheel and sum decent torque, i think they hav 1.8, i've been in one and they're fairly comfortable drive, im not sure about the reliability, i guess its the kinda car you'de buy new and sell 2 years old b4 n e thing ***s up

15-09-04, 14:32 GMT+10#11 Well if it is what she wants let her buy it. It's no doubt cheap and economical.
I'd say she would be better off with a late model Corolla tho.
Toyota's go FOREVER!!

15-09-04, 21:51 GMT+10#17 daewoo went broke, GM bought them out. they now sell new model daewoos under a chevy badge in other countries. maybe holden will sell them too, but i doubt it.
about the chick buying the car, dont bother mate, its like talking to a brick wall. they dont care how it works or how reliable it is, the only thing chicks care about in a car is how ***n cute it is and how many vanity mirrors it has. let her buy the piece of sh1t and find out the hard way that they are junk when it turns into an oil burning slag heap after 5 years.
tell her to buy a corolla if she wants a decent little car, at least it will take the punishment that she will most likely dish out on the poor thing!!! lol

15-09-04, 22:07 GMT+10#19 Personally I'd buy a Mitsubishi Mirage if i had to choose any of those tiny cars...
my mums excel has been through 2 auto's, the interior build quality is ****, and paint on it is **** and has corroded...oh and not that any female cares, but it handles like ****.
As opposed to my girlfriends old mirage, never had a problem with it...ever. It handled better, went better (altho it was 5 speed so yeh... ) looked better, had a better interior etc etc......
But like someone else said... whatever she thinks looks the best and she's got set in her mind is what she's gonna buy... no use me even typing this
