I'm a Victorian resident and i can tell you ppl from other states of Australia and O/S that road laws here are really bad. I have been researching road laws all over the country and comparing them to our own (Vic). The Bracks Government "Labor" is ****ing us up the ass Big time. He has snuck in so many different road laws, and introduced speed cameras all over the state with a "0" Tolerance for speeding. 1 km/h over....fine and demirit points. P platers here NOW only have 5 before they lose there license. Here are some labor goverment policies, we can all be proud of..... -Zero tolerance for going over the speed limit (Thank Bracks) -Fixed Speed cameras throughout Victoria (Thank Bracks) -"p" platers reduced from 12 point demerit system to 5. (Thank Bracks) -New demerit point system which is much stricter for everyone. Including larger fines and automatic loss of license for going 20km/h on the freeway. Now u also lose demerit points for not showing p's, driving a car with a carnerie and for obstruction of number plates. ["P" plater going 10k's over the limit not showing P plates would lose there license for 3 months instantly!] (Yes, again, thank Bracks) -Zero tolerance BAC for P platers. Some states have .02. This leadway is good cause u can accidenlty be picked up. I am currently facing drinking charges due to cough medicine. -Interlock laws are now in place. This requires a convicted drink driver in certain circumstances to have an iginition lock. This is in some states now, but i noticed NSW introduced the program volunitarily and rewards drivers who take part in the program. Vic policy is compulsary and requires a court order to get it removed. -Also rego went up $80 for health care card holders (THank Bracks) -The latest is, NEW speed cameras will be hidden in wheelie bins. *Almost every 2-3 months he has something to add to make it harder for victorians to enjoy there tax payed roads. WA,NT and ACT have been the best for driving laws. I believe NT has no demerit point system, and WA is very relaxed. Here in Victoria it is almost a battle to keep your license. NSW seems to be heading in Victorias direction. Havn't done much reading up on Tassie. But have noticed that they limit all P platers to 80km/h. I hate the bracks government! Next election, be sure to VOTE LIBERAL. Good old kennet wouldn't have done this to us. I am so fustrasted by all this. I have had my license suspended instantly for drink driving after drinking cough medicine. I haven't even ggone to court and already i am guilty.......by the way bracks brought that in too. that was introduced about 18 months ago or so. You never used to lose ur license til u went to court. I don't know how others feel, but i do not feel freedom here in Victoria anymore. **** that is long, i wonder if anyone can be bothered reading it all.

Yeah I read it, some of its fair, some of its bull****, you guys have alot of trash down there, but all in all it stops you from doing anything wrong doesn't it? If you lost your licence for cough medicine are you going to court and trying to explain that, would you have any evidence to back yourself up, i.e. your mum saw you take it or your girlfriend. P platers in QLD only get 4 points and its a 0 BAC, I've never blown over 0, and haven't heard any stories about anyone doing it. Points go quickly though, over 21km/h is all 4 points gone.. And its happened to me and mates a few times, And its gradually getting the point across that if you speed you lose your licence and part of your livelyhood. All in all, yes theres some blatant revenue tactics going on..But it shouldn't worry too many people unless they are doing something wrong to begin with.
