Guys & Girls, Does anyone run Gabriel Red Ryder Heavy Duty shock absorbers on their lowered Vl's? I'm running K-Mac springs and need to replace the rear shocks. Should I be looking at shortened shocks or will standard heavy duty like Gabriel do the job?

I have heard that Gabriel shock abosorbers are pretty cheap and nasty. My mate had a set in a Commodore that lasted half the time his old Monroe shocks lasted.Spend a bit more and get Monroes. Even then, there are better shocks round than Monroe. I'm running shortened Monroe GT gas in the back of my VL beacause its lowered 2 inches. They've been in there 40,000kms and they are still fine.

Gabrielle are for the lower end market or for people doing cheap but legit roadworthies. Ive seen them in person and im not impressed with them. Very cheap but not something you would put on a car that you will want to drive fast through corners. Last thing you want is an unstable rear end, mid corner at 80km/h on a tight road Spend the extra dollars and get something thats going to last and perform. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Maybe they should sell them to Jap "Drifters" then hey. Monroe is the go. but don't go for sensortrack on lowered cars they don't last. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
