My Diff is noisy and has backlash clunk(only sometimes) so I am going to buy a replacement crown wheel and pinion. Currently the ratio is 3.9. My questions if anyone knows is how much will this cost me to purchase by itself and also how much it would be if i got a mechanic to do the job? I only want to know just a rough estimate from somebody who has replaced theirs so I will be prepared for the lack of weight in my wallet. Also........ I have standard rubber bushes in the rear end and under heavy acceleration I have a slight(huge) twisting problem and a change to nolathane is in order. roughly how much will it cost to get these replaced? Cheers.

nolathane bushes are $18 from autobarn i bought some this morning as my diff is gettin rebuilt this weekend, i dropped it off to my mechanic guy and he is charging me $250 labour to drop the diff out flush it put the 28spline spool in all new diff bearings/wheel bearings gears oil etc. should have it back sunday arvie! i clean snapped the 25spline axle it was a joke.. so i guess your lookin around the $150-200 mark to get it done..

Quote: how do you only have backlash sometimes. it aint gonna come and go Only sometimes when I put it in gear from park or pull it out of reverse too slowly. Being an auto it doesn't do it while im driving.
