I have a 90 liter but i think only 70 is usable. If the car is TUNED right, no reason y u cant get 400kms outta it. Currently i get 350 - 400 kms driving in peak hour etc.
Remember a straight GAS car is tuned to its ultimate on GAS where as dual fuel isnt. As long as its tuned right, you will be laughing..

dw, im always laughing cos when we go crusing and we fill up my bill is about $20 - $25 for a full tank. Most of the other guys are paying over $60! heh! and its all EPA legal mate. even better part. AS long as is Gas Complienced..

duel fuel is crap best go all the way not half way...... no guts no glory....
the only problem i see is that gas ya get get more mileage then fuel but its cheaper yet you spend more putting in but anyway theres lotta pros and cons woth both straight gas and straight fuel....so you have to really do the math....... also if ya do do it ya can get a narly set up with better gear.

Exactly, good point Paul. You can't tune a car for two different fuels.
david85dc - it depends on the setup you go with, VLMuzza has in my opinion the best Straight Gas setup around (I have this opinion because I used to have the same setup on a small block Chev), by Gas Research, it not only works, it's works very well and looks awesome too. Another advantage to having Straight Gas is you can get rid of your pullution gear.
With regards to price, I recently got a quote from GRA (for a V8), for a single throttle body full Gas conversion, with dyno tune - drive in, drive out it's $2550, twin throttle bodies it's $3550. With the price of pretrol the return on investment is very good + no EPA hassles.....

26-08-04, 13:50 GMT+10#10 Greg, it depends on the 2 cars, are they both VL's? If yes then sure, the tank will fit and the other gear as well assuming also the same engines.

26-08-04, 14:18 GMT+10#12 I'm using a IMPCO 425 convertor to start with, should support 500Hp, but I have orgainsed the pipework so that another one can be fitted once I start ot get serious.
The beauty of aftermaket management is that you can run two type of fuel like LPG and petrol with good results, by getting the car dynoed and swapping maps according to the fuel your using. LPG does work best as a sole fuel, and in a set up designed at maximising it's potnetial.
Pump LPG is good fuel, better than any pump petrol.
There is no reason why huge numbers can't be extracted by a RB engine running gas, numbers bigger than petrol are highly possible as more people start using it and finding out how to best utilise it's energy in a effiecent set up.

26-08-04, 14:32 GMT+10#13 I wouldnt bother with dual fuel. Do it properly or dont do it at all if you want POWER...

Thats a fair bit just for a single throttle setup. Is that including setting up the tank and lines and all that too??
AFAIK the throttles are 400 each, and two converters costs about 400...

26-08-04, 16:06 GMT+10#15 Sinister - I said "full" conversion, that includes supply and fit of tank, line, high flow lock-off, throttle body, converter, primer and all hardware. It also includes a dyno tune to get the mixtures spot on. Plus the throttle body comes with a Lifetime Warranty.
It's a drive-in, drive-out service!!!
As I said, I've had this setup (twin throttle bodies) on a Small Block Chev and it worked a treat and looked awesome too. Ask VLMuzza whether it was worth the money, and he's pulling 10's with it!!!

26-08-04, 18:19 GMT+10#17 Even if the conversion is around the $2500 mark, think of the money you will save on not having to buy injectors, fuel pumps, surge tanks etc. Also you will only have to have an ECU to control ignition. So all up that could probably save you the $2500.

26-08-04, 21:00 GMT+10#20 VLMuzzas LPG tank is in the boot and the fuel tank is removed due to being straight gas it is a requirement.
This makes it SO much easier to jack up from the rear as well
