ANy of you guys seen the range of Philips headlights? They have like 4 different types of performance globes for all cars. These things are so bloody good. They give you white light and much more of it. I got a pair of Crystal vision for my VL and they rock!! Look bloody good from behind to. You can also get Hologen tail lights and reverse lamps. Everyone should check them out at Autobarn next time you drop in!

Yes they are expensive. My set was 58.00. They are bloody worth it if you love your car and want it to look damn nice. Also you can see much better.

If only XENON headlights could be equipped into a VL??? If I had a spare 100k to spend on the car, I'd go the extra mile to put the proper things in... straight out of a lexus. Expensive *******s they are, so might just have to do with the h/d H4s. lol

Word is Xenon will be available for all cars soon. The Philips globes are the same wattage just a much more efficient globe.

GMH-30L, the cost to convert your H4's and H1's over the full blown XENON is $3,400, $1,800 for the H4's High/Low, and $1,600 for the H1's Highbeam.

There has been a bit of discussion about these conversions of late so I decided to find out more about the subject. I came across a site (in N.S.W) that sells and supports these kits : Code: http://www.xenonoz.com/ I spoke to the owner, Frank, about the conversion, he suggested that for a VL you'd only need to go for the H4 conversion High/Low as these globes alone would be more than adeqate for night time driving. You'll see these lights on BMW's, Mercs and Lexus type of luxury cars, they are the intense white lights that change colour as the car moves up and down on the road. The conversion kit for a VL is $1,795 including delivery to anywhere in Oz, and another $1,600 if you wanted to do the H1 Highbeam conversion too. I know it's not cheap but Frank says the globes last for 8 years and the kit can be re-used on any other H4 vehicle. Frank seems to be a nice guy, he gave me all the facts and didn't do the typical sales pitch. Jump on the site above and take a look around, Frank's contact details are on there if you want to take it further.

I reckon that a set of Philips performance globes are nearly as good as the Xenon anyway as our headlight lenses are not made for HID globes.

If anyone is interested in doing this conversion....I should be able to beat $1795, just give me a PM. Brand will be Hella, very trusty Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Sorry, my bad. By the looks of it Hella only do a low beam replacement version. Which is about $1100 for everything to changeover. The other kits only use a standard halogen built onto the HID mount for highbeam anyway PM me if your interested Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
