Hi Everyone , I'm a new visiter to the site and was hoping to get in contact with other owners in New Zealand for a cruise or just to get together with other owners in Auckland. Would be great that the New Zealand owners on the site could fill in the ozzy's on what we are up too. Hope some one reply's Cheers Kris

kia ora theres a few of us around . i see nzvlcalais regularly and another mate with a royale, and maybe keen for a cruise some day. you may or may not already know that the nz new factory vl turbo is non existent, apparently the only vl turbo's in nz have been a transplant or privately imported. i have seen a few turbos around (mostly with rb20det) in em. regards Reado

Hey fellas I have a factory turbo, not NZ new. Apparently though, there was a holden dealer in Auckland bought half a dozen turbos to sell nz new. You can tell if the car is a factory turbo from the id plates on the firewall. On the Body & Option plate changes are; Turbo ENG. LW5 TRANS. MX7 or MS1 Non-turbo ENG. LF1 TRANS. MF5 or ML4 There are also differences on the vin no. as well. Ill write them up if you want.

Hi Guys, great to see that people have read this and made contact. Yes I know that majority of VL turbo's where imported from ozzy or ex chassers (BT1) . My car from all the investigating that I have done was sold from a holden dealer in Auckland as a new car . it was previously owned by my uncle 12 years ago which is when I first saw a vl turbo and said that I wanted one. After owning a n/a VL calias then reluctantly selling it , 2 years later I started the search for a new project. was looking for a straight VL to do a Turbo conversion on, when my brother was selling a ute of his and a guy wanted to do a car and cash deal for his ute. The car was the VL turbo I now have owned for the past year. Wasn't till after the car was in my pocession and I had done the change of ownership that I found out that the car was the same one my uncle owned 12 years ago. I have a clear file with all the work that has been done on the car . I live in Whangaparoa, and would like to see what others are doing with there cars in NZ. I am at the start of my project, and wish to rebuild this car to show condition. If you want to make contact I can be contacted on 09 4280319 or 021 0618686. Regards Kris

Got my bits from a place in Cristchurch called AEROTECH, OR Foxton Reinforced Plactics. The Advert was in the trade and exchange. Sayers auto parts do them as well and also there is a place in Tauranga that does them too. Still have my Group A front and rear bumpers and the boot spoiler is still on the car , but I will be taking it off, I am only going to put on the what they refer to a a bottom 1/2 kit, which is everything except the bonnet bulge, bath tub boot spoiler and windo flares. Want to create a really smooth low muscular stance for the car and just couldn't source an AERO kit so this is the next best thing in my opinion, and I didn't want to create just another want to be Wilky like everyone else out there. Will sell my Group A kit when I get around to it or if someone wants it, not in the best condition but can be repaired pretty easily, has some cracks in it. not after alot for it . Havn't seen your car in the parking lot but will keep a look out for it, See ya around Kris

nzvlturbo, welcome! Yea there are a few kiwi's on here... altho i didnt realise one of my mates (Walkinshaw wagon) was on here until i saw his avatar (he is quite the fan of TUI). I see Walkinshaw wagon most weekends! I live on the shore... just a blast down east coast bays road from where you are! my car's running like sh!t at the moment tho... so i won't be goin on any cruises anytime soon! Plus i had a slight accident -> here's what happened http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=22094. But yea i now have a lovely silver quarter panel on the drivers side now. So i'm goin to get that painted aswel! Anyways... your lucky finding a nice VL turbo tho - i looked for ages and there was none in my price range - Which wasnt that much! but yea a VL Turbo or a VL V8 would have been nice... but this car was just too good to pass up at the price i got it for! Oh yea... and im selling my VL Royale if you know any one that wants a tidy Royale for quite cheap... only cheap cos it has no wof or reg and i havta get rid of it cos its just sitting there doin nutting! The only reason it has no wof is cos of some good ol' rust in the boot... other than that its quite nice - 15" v. tidy Roh mags, tints, all elecs, cd player with four good 6 & 1/2" speakers, sports exhuast etc etc... i'm advertising at $1900 - No wof, no reg! Let me know if ya know anyone! Cheers, Jay

Hope to see you around on the shore, used to be quite fond of Tui also back in the days I lived in Palmeston North even went to the Mungatanoka Brewery where htey first brewed Tui in NZ. Don't know of anyone in the market for your car but seems a good price for what your selling. Take it easy , Kris

i am currently looking at my sourcing my kit at the mo i looked at the prices from aerotech and matched them with rare spares and looks like ill be giving my money to rare spares (christchurch) rare spares also do a walky street kit- which looks just like a walky one except not as low therefore more accessability! wagon should be painted with full kit in several weeks and then bring on the commodore cruises!

What price are you talking as If I could get an AERO kit at the right price I would sell my new Walky kit, as the areo makes a VL look like sex on wheels, as far as I'm concerned Cheers Kris

hey kris, this is tims suggestion. If you do choose to buy the aero kit and if you want hot erotic sex on wheels then get vlt-dreamer to buy you a fibremaster calais front and up the price to $2350. and you wouldnt have to worry about finding a buyer for your walky kit, ill buy it for $20 cash lol cant pass that up can ya? hahahahaha i say be different and go the aero! doubt thered be too many around town! you were serious bout the autosalon aswell aye? Peace out brothaz
