when i first started driving my VL and was cruising at say 50km/h, when i stood on the go pedal, it would kick back to first everytime. even when i was up at 60km/h in 3rd gear, itd kick back to first and wind out till 70, then shift to second couldnt really say when it happened, or how sudden it was, but these days when i floor it, even from 40k, it stays in second. i can still wind 1st gear out to 70km/h from standing start, but if im moving and floor it, itll only go as far back as second gear could this be a sign of gearbox problems? cheers

could be a leak in the vacuum modulator line from the manifold or a stuffed modulator on the gearbox.

this has been done before, to do with the kickdown switch at the top of the accel. pedal. Please do a search.
