Is there an easy way of doing this? If so can someone explain it to me? Did a search but didn't come up with much

you drop out the whole strut. according to the book you have to take out the ball joint etc but a friend managed to change springs by just taking off the steering knuckle, undoing the strut top, and rotating it all to come out under the guard. i dont know if this is possible on all cars or not but he managed to do it. i couldnt even manege to get the nut that holds the strut insert into the strut top undone so i gave mine to a pro to do. yours will probably be different because you have adjustable strut tops too. also after its done unless you put it back 100% the same, it'll need an alignment. maybe take it somewhere? shouldnt cost much?

if u do it yourself remove wheel and brake caliper, split the tie rod end off the strut, undo the caster rod ("z" bar) at the front and also loosen it at the control arm. undo the lower control arm inner bolt and lower the inside of the lower control arm. You can now swing the strut on the bearing plate and pull the bottom of the strut out till the front of the z bar comes free then unbolt the strut from the tower. u will need spring compressors to safely get the springs on and off the strut, they have to be compressed till there not pushing on the bearing plate or it will knock your head off when u loosen the retaining nut

yeah rears are easy just remove the pan hard rod off the diff and undo the bottom shock absorber mounts so the diff can swing down and then jack the car up till u can get the springs free. Don't lift it so far that the brake hose to the body gets pulled
