I wanted to get a cheap Gemini with a little bit of rego and good condition so I can get a RWC easilly and drop a VN V6 engine into it! I was wondering if anyone knows where I can pick up a fairly good VN V6 engine and a Gemini in not bad condition and if ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO DROP THE ENGINE IN! I dont want to get any engineers certificates as I will get the RWC with the stock engine in it then do the conversion afterwards! So can anyone please get back to me with some info on this please! Thanx!

in the end you will need to get an engineers certificates coz if you get pulled over and the motor is in it then your up **** creek!!! as for the engine try a wreckers the only way if you ask me as for a gem umm trading post etc have you tryed the gemi fourms?? I have some websites somewhere for it but i cannot find them when i do i will post them up for you... Have you seen GMFROG around? well that has a VN V6 in it...

that really is a terrible idea...... the VN V6 is a particularly poor engine. if you want to be original and NOT put an SR20 or FJ20 in it (bearing in mind that those are both excellent choices) try a windsor V8 or a small-block chev....... if you feel like going seriously try an RB30ET? i bet that would make the gemmy move!

Ecotec V6 all the way mate!!! These thing fly in a Gem. All conversions are expensive and it's not easy to get it engineered for road use.

hey champ - i know this may be off topic - but as said above- for the same money you might spend jamming in a old school death rattling vn motor in a gemini, best bet would be to stick in a FJ20 turbo motor - those things are literally bullet proof and haul ass too

granted, the ecotec V6 is a vastly better engine than its predecessors, but for less cost you could put the FJ or SR20 in, and the car would not only go lots faster, it'd sound better and handle a LOT better with the much lighter engine in it.

Agreed, However, you would pay twice as much for a decent FJ/SR engine/gearbox package tho.

Quick run down on the costs.. if you just want to slap one together The actual Conversion Kit - ( Engineer approved) $1300 brand new You will need: Motor & Box And maybe you will have to spend a bit of money on getting the exhaust done. Fairly easy conversion and it goes very well with one of these engines. Bigger brakes would be a good option and a locked diff is a must.... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

LOL that's the same blower i used! so that thing has a bit of holden, a bit of buick, and a bit of toyota in it. what a hybrid! on another note, that alternator doesn't have a lot of belt driving it!

haha That alternator is there for looks i'm sure that thing would definately haul ass though, the v6 looks like it was made for the gemi. i've been in a gem with, i'd say its around 100hp at the wheels, a mate of mine reckons its more like 120, and i disagree alot but anyway. around 100hp at the wheels in a gemi is fairly crazy, spins easily, steps out easily, sounds crazy, and moves extremely quickly.. so.. wow. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
