Was driving down plenty road this morning round 830ish, bit of traffic... Slowed down near the lights due to the traffic, yet the lights were still green. Completely stopped minding my own business then BANG... got hit behind by a new bmw, it threw my car forward and hit the other lady in front of me. Front headlights are totalled, radiator leaking etc... Rear quarter damaged exhaust taillights etc... pretty huge gaps between boot lining and around the wheelbase so yea.. tow truck driver told me it is definately a write off The lady behind me (the one who hit me) was looking in the next lane as she was bought to change lanes and didnt realise that the traffic ahead of her had stopped.. an it ended in her car being halfway through changing lanes, and halfway through my car As it turns out just my luck out of all this happening, it turns out that the lady that hit me has been friends with my parents for over 25 years... lol and also in irony I was on my way to the hospital to visit a friend that was in one of the tragic car accidents last week... and if that wasnt enough, just as we had our stack in the right lane... a truck was watching us and decided to hit the MG in front of him. lol so yea.. the tow truck driver told me they had already towed 7 cars soo far this morning... so people please be careful on the roads! and dont hit our babys! btw this was a thread i did not to long ago as i was tihnking of selling my car... http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=23497 and a few pics of it before she got smashed up... http://www.pbase.com/oso85/matts_vl_calais

Bad luck mate. At least you're all right. Gotta feel for the guy in the MG, too! If she's got a bimmer, I'm sure she can afford to pay. On the bright side.

Hey man, i no how it feels, i wrote off my VL yesterday... Its still up in the air who will be charged cause i cut across his path but he was speeding (which is why i didnt see him). Hopefully they find him at fault cause i reckon i can scrape up enough for an NA Calais. Or at least an 88 manual, with a taco instead of a stupid clock..

Mate if your going throught insurance be prepared to pay your excess, because you hit someone in the rear your at fault! I hit someone in the rear once, i had to pay an excess of $750. It wasnt even my fault, some halfwit old man was driving down the wrong side of the road 2 days b4 christmas, traffic stopped to avoid him and unfortunately i was unable to stop in time and i hit one of the people who stoped. According to insurance company's any rear ender's and its your fault no matter what!!!

im not 100% sure on that, from the sounds of it u were to close to the person infront and that was the reason for the accident since he was arse ended and "thrown" into the car infront he shouldn't have to pay it should fall on the bmw chick. that or i would be really pissed since u were stationary minding your own business

If you are a couple of meters behind someone and someone hits your arse which makes you hit the person in front of you then it's not your fault. I've had 3 accidents in the first two weeks of Jan this year, none my fault, first accident I wasn't even in the car, it was in a car park.

Its a long and complicated story but i was over 2 car lengths behind her, and the police found that i was not at fault. As for insurance companies they just want your money. Technically he should have left enough room b/w himself and the car infront so that if someone was to hit him from behind there would be enough room infront and not hit the other car. I know many people who have been in this situation and have been at falt for the car infront for not leaving enough room infront even though they were stationary! Interesting to hear about the out come

yea the insurance rang and yea, the car in front of me is going through her insurance (the lady who hit me) so both my car and the lady i hit in front of me are both going through the lady who hit me... if that makes sense :P so yea all good got ntohing to do with me, just have to wait until tuesday for feedback on $$$ then i have to start looking for another car which is abit of a pain in the *** but yea, just have to wait and see
