Anyone know if its possible to run a 3 inch system under the diff? I realise it would sit lower, but has anyone done it without any problems?
The car has super lows, and 18's.
Yes, you "can" do it, however, having it LEGAL (and/or usefully) is a whole new ballpark.
For starters, the exhaust must run low enough as to not foul the diff / suspension at FULL travel. Also the exhaust must run high enough as to leave the minimum 100mm ground clearance under it. Usually its not too much of a problem in an IRS car, as the diff centre is in a fixed place and the exhaust can be run close to this and still be high enough, but with a live axle car, you would be hard pushed to get the correct clearances.
Thats what I thought, the reason I was wanting to know is, I am fitting it myself, and it would be ****loads easier to go under the diff.
Cheers for the info guys.
vent it down just in front of the left axle, and put a fake tip on it so that i looks like you have a full exhaust. then you have the best of both worlds!
i hav a friend that has a turned down pipe right b4 the diff with a seperate muffler on the back, gr8 idea but if u want it legal just do it the normal way
