Installing Central Locking in my car over the past couple nights, i read the article put up and got me thinking there must be an easier way for the front doors rather than making up long rods running across the door. I found a screw in the panel support beam that goes behind across the door panel, i dont know why this is there? but i used this to mount the bracket across up to the actuator. This is what i come up with: And for the rear doors instead of taking the doors off here is how i ran the wires: And the front doors: Cheers, Chris Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Where did u get that crinkled tubing from to run your wires through? I'd love to have that instead of just grommets and bare wires!

It came with the c/lock kit i bought. But i would imagine u could get it from an auto store or hardware store, ud have to look around. You can even buy it with grommets at each end, u just gotta find the right length one.

Hey dude, that screw is there because there is normally a metal plate that covers the locking area from people trying to stick stuff down your window. Thats the screw that holds it down.

I don't think all cars had them. I remember fitting central locking to my old VL and it didn't have any plates covering the locks, also found out when I had to change my passenger door lock after the car was broken into.

reguarding putting central locking in the back doors, On the back doors look for the actuating rod going to the front top corner of the door , it will be connected to a black piece of plastic that looks like a boomerang, fit your motor onder this and connect its rod into the hole on bottom of the little boomerand looking clip.for the front doors look at the picture it the post, and where you see the black slider(lock) and rod connected to it,you want to put the motor running parrallel with the rod facind the lock slider, then make a u shape rod to connect the two together.

just needed a few tips before i start- do i have to take the doors off? the angle looks a bit tight to make the wholes- and is just drilling the wholes the best way to go- start off small then get larger?

you need to take doors off you you wanna drill the hole in the door. otherwise you can leave the door on and run the wires through the door skin.

I put my actuators at the top of the doors just behind the interior lock. Looks much tidyer.
