Whats a good price to get a stock RB30ET rebuild including parts and labour. No internal breakages, just a high km engine in need of a refresh.
Also. who has hiflowed their std t3 turbo and what advantages and disadvantages are prominent?
Standard RB30ET rebuilds aren't exactley cheap, with all genuine parts including labour your looking at around the 4500 mark give or take depending on where u take it. Obviously it will be less with non genuine parts, all depends on how much money your willing to spend and how concerned with reliability u are.
Why would anyone spend $4500 on a standard rebuild?? throwing good money after bad.
It has been proven time after time that these engines when properly tuned can handle more power than most people can afford to get out of them.
Spend $6000 and get a forged setup if your really keen, but make sure you have the budget to actually require that strength, otherwise it's a waste of money IMO.
Eg: Dont spend big bucks, getting a tuff as guts engine built, then top it off with a T03 high flow.
I agree that if your going to spend $4500 on a standard rebuild, you may as well chuck in the extra bucks and get some head work with forgies, but thats not what he is asking.
Rebuilding and highflowing your T3 your looking at about $1500. They are a nice streetable option and proven to run good numbers if u have the right setup.
btw, when I was looking for a vlct, I checked out one that had a "rebuilt engine" which he had reciepts for $3000 - all non genuine parts obviously. This thing was rough as guts. Imo u get what u pay for.
Very true Miss Erin,
Anyway, boostedcal I dont think you can go wrong with a TO3 highflow.
And do a decent rebuild as while the engine is out your better off doing it once, and properly the first time, you'll save money in the long run.
Also when it comes time to lean on the engine a bit harder, you know you wont hurt it.
Like a wise man once said "Perfromance costs money, how fast do you wanna go?"

Erin - i know a few ppl who have got rebuilds with forgies for around 5k.
Thats vic where plenty of shops can do what you want.
Bresciani charge 3500 with acl pistons.
Mate got the works besides forged rods for 6500 from bresciani.
hope that helps
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
Pav Tek did my mates forged engine rebuild SPS pistons, O-ringed the block all the machine work etc for something like $3,000 about 3 years back and they assembled it, because he was lazy and could'nt be stuffed only cost another couple of hundred for them to assemble it and he got a limited warranty. Because of it's use for occasional draging.
Very strong engine too. Has copped a hard time on the streets.

Not really into forgies, hence the fact i am not after fast times. Just really interested in a reliable freshen up, i have an engine in bits in my shed that will be put together properly in due time. Engine changes arent all that difficult, its just that my sad old donk needs a freshen up due to the fact i am running lots of kays on it at the moment and am after reliability before extreme performance at this time.
So do Nissan or Holden still sell rebuild kits? I will check that out tomorrow, i was quoted on a precision engineering rebuild kit.
