Hey guys Just like to announce that the vk is finished! And boy has it come a hell of a long way.... Quick wrap up..... I decided to go for the vk after crashing my vn commodore and was looking for a suitable rolling shell to place my motor and gearbox in. I was just going to do the car up as basic transport and not go over the top (havn't we heard this before)... I found a vk calais which looked a little worse for wear but had been completly stripped. I picked this up for $600. With the help of Jaws and microant we dropped in the the vn v6 and t5 manual gearbox. I decided on a smick paintjob and the car was finished in blood orange. I hated the green interior and i quickly decided a white and orange theme would be the way to go. I had the front seats retrimmed and myself and jaws did everything else... That is a quick wrap up of how the vk came to be... The project cost was just over $7000 - Thats from bare shell to rego... And took around 8 months to complete... Mods to the car: Custom extractors with 2.5" mandrel bent exaust 75mm throttle body 8mm magna core leads bosch super 4 plugs k & n pod filter Monroe gas shocks all round King spring super lows at the front King spring ultra lows in the rear Dba slotted discs all round Benedix performax pads to suit PICS: 1. The bare shell as I bought it 2. The car being put on the engine (i don't own a hoist or block and tackle) 3. Interior - yucky green 4. Car back from being painted 5. Cars finished and jaws and myself cruising along the coast on a sunday afternoon... 6. Side shot of the car 7. Interior ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- People to thank! JAWS MICROANT COMMODORENUT and last but not least EVERYONE ON CALAISTURBO FORUM WHO GAVE ME A HLPING HAND....
