hey, i was wondering if 3.9:1 lsd gears would have a positive or negative effect on a fairly stock na mods: -cai -k@n panel -2.5" cat back -advanced timing (around 17, 18) -modified air:fuel ratio (long story but good mod) im after better acceleration, would that be the result? im also really sick of the car shifting so much at low speeds, would b good 2 c the gears last a little longer speed wise

what gears do you have in ATM? if you have 4.11's or similar then the 3.9's will be better for top end speed but you will sacrifice a bit in take off, and vice-versa basically, the higher the ratio (numerically speaking), the better the take off but higher top-end revs, this will mean you won't be able to wind it out as much like the lower gears!

I hope u don't use highway's a lot cos your fuel economy is gonna go down the drain! Your car will be reving a lot harder at 110km/h than wat it would with the 3.45's. Im not sure what 3.9's are like but 4.11's rev at about 4000rpm at 110. I wouldnt bother with the diff gears on a n/a. If u want your car to rev out longer then just drive through the gears.

i was under the impression that 3.9 gears would giv me more speed for my revs, i dont want 2 rev it harder, i guess i had it the wrong way around then

You will accelerate quicker, however your top speed will be reduced along with your fuel economy.
