hey i wanna lower my car a little, i can get some new springs and iv heard that if i jack my car up high enough the old ones will just slip out and i can slide the new ones in. is this true?? secondly, is new (lowered) springs the only thing i need to lower my car?? do i need new shocks or nething? any help would be great, thanx

shortened shocks would be ideal, but not usually necessary unless you are lowering a LOT. just jack the car up and undo the shock from inside the boot. it will drop the diff even more and the spring should just slide on out. the fronts are a bit more difficult, personally i'd get a mechanic to do them.

ok yeah i think i might go to a mechanic, i dun wanna mess with something i might not get 100% right. But if i already have springs, what sort of mechanic will fit them for a decent price considering i didnt buy the springs from them?

Go to any tyre/suspemsion dealer to get the front springs fitted, because a wheel alignment is almost certainly needed afterwards.
