I have been advised against refitting my rear bushes with Nolathane as they chew out and wear away the suspension parts - is this true? who has them? any stories about them? Thanks, Paul.

some bushes should be replaced with nolathane , whereas other should be replaced with original rubber bushes. torque of a turbo car does have a tendancy to wear out certain bushes faster. thats why u use the rubber in place whereas front end - use nolathanes all round.

Nothanes give a harsher ride and can cause upper control arms on the diff to tear out in high powered cars, rubber should be used there it gives more flex.

I prefer nolathane in the rear to reduce flex when launching on the strip. Tightens up the whole rear end.

Thats exactly what i have been told. I replaced all rear bushes and used rubber for the upper and lower control arms and polyurathane on panhard rod and sway bar bushes. Think about it- if the bushes dont give enough then something has to. I have heard of mounting points braking off and eyelets poping out from polyurathane in upper control arms!

I used to have a manual V8 Cortina fitted Nolathanes to the rear end upper and lower contol arms, Giving it a hard time dumped the clutch and the diff pulled the upper contol arms from the floor it litreally tore all the metal apart, They don't flex in the rear you want to twist not have it stiff because in the end something will give. Also seen the same thing happen in a VH SLE with a 355 in it. I use rubber in the arse end, but as the the guy said front ends no problem.

Couldn't agree more, that would be the way id go. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
