hi guys,
i've ran searches and trolled the forums but i can't find much about the brake lines.
here's the scenario :
i have a vl exec, n/a. currently all standard. with drum diff.
i have a new diff now, it's a disc to disc. it doesn't have brake lines on it.
i also have : vt twin piston calipers (front ) cross drilled / slotted rotors too, and hub adaptors,
as well as rear cross drilled / slotted vt rotors and single piston vt calipers.
got the disc to disc handbrake cable,
got a 1" master cylinder too, so i think i'm pretty set
what do i need to do to fit them.??
e.g. - the front ones - they already have the brake lines ( from the vt ) on them, so do i need to get other ones? or modify them ? if so then how?
and for the rear ones, can i use the drum diff's brake lines? or do i need other ones?
i have brake lines from the vl turbo calipers - just the rubber ones like 15 - 20 cm long, which fit into the rear vt calipers. will they work ?
i'm a little in the dark at the moment with the conversion.
and i don't want to use braided hoses if i don't need to. i'm assuming they serve no purpose other than asthetics.
help!
thanks
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
you should be sweet with the VT lines - they should just adapt onto the steel line under the front guards - i've got braided lines so dind't try the ones the were joined to the callipers.

ok, thanks, can anyone else confirm this?
and what about the rear brake dilemma now :P
thanks
You'll never be able to fit the rear VT rotors or calipers to your VL and still retain the handbrake .
They won't fit at all ,
As for the fronts, You can use the VT hoses OK , Just stick a chissel under the original bracket and give it a wack and it'll come right off ,
Its only tacked on .
And screw/ Rivet or tack weld the other bracket you have on .
Make sure to put the calipers the right way around , Bleeder nipple always to the top ,
And before you attach the bracket to the body turn the wheel into full lock so you know where to position it exactly .
If not in the right place it will stretch in full lock and put pressure on the line.
sorry, my mistake, i have for the rear :
brand new VL Turbo single piston calipers, and
VL Turbo Rear cross drilled and slotted rotors. both new :|
so will i need any lines etc? i have the standard ones off the original calipers. but don't have any that go onto the diff that people talk about. these hoses go into the dust cover plate thingy's on the inside of each rotor. u know the covers....
what from there! ?
