Winton Motor Raceway is holding a 'fun day' on the 1st of August. Gates open at 8am, racing starts at around 10:30am until 4-5pm. Be early to get a garage. Only $20 to enter (if same as last time) and u can race all day, as much or as little as u like. No race licence required! The track timers wont be running and your supposed to drive at 80%. This is why it's so cheap. Nothing stoping u taking a stopwatch as long as u don't spin at every corner or be stupid (too much). No speed limit! U can also take passengers half the time and drive any car as long as everyone has paid the enrty fee and all cars scrutineered. Spectators free. What you need to bring - Everyone, drivers and passengers, must wear a motorbike helmet, ankles to wrists fire retardant (cotton) clothing and sterdy shoes. Your car - Only a few safty issues are checked on your car. Seat belts must be in good condition, battery secure, steering tight, wheel nuts tight, secondary throttle return spring (most car have), nothing loose inside car, no bad oil leaks, and it's good if you have a secondary bonnet safty catch (a leather belt will do). And no obvious safty problems (canvas hanging out of tyres, ect.). Also stockies on the rear are frowned apon. Your car doesn't have to be registered. Circuit racing is hard on you engine, brakes and tyres. Make sure your cooling system and oils are in good condition. It's also good to have decent brake pads.
