Was going to my cousins house down in Preston last night... From Mill Park to Preston, and then back home I counted 17 marked cop cars. I only went to his house for 20-30mins or so... so all up within about an hour we counted that many. They must be pretty desperate to catch some motorists out there as I saw them hiding in side streets, behind the petrol stations on high st. They were just everywhere...
Anyone go down towards the city last night, I was thinking if there were that many down here around the northern suburbs, the rest of em must of been down st kilda way
It's starting to get ridiculous, I drive an n/a calais and have been pulled over for 'random checks' 7 times and 4 breath tests, and I only just got my licence this year in Jan.
get used of it mate, the cops have been out in force big time lately, even down here

Or move to Queensland far north such as Cairns, I got pulled up for speeding a big 71 in a 60 zone in my hire car or my recent holiday, gave the cop my Victorian driver license and he said slow down and have a good day and let me off, Best copper I have ever met. Queensland cops are tops.
Up there they are more worried about arresting local crims and picking up drunken Aborigines off the street. I never saw one TMU copper up there. And no bull**** EPA.
Victoria really is a ****ed state. Move interstate I'm considering it not only that but the weather gives me the ****s in Victoria.

I agree i've see them out in force over the last few days, but thats what their ment to do, show their presence to deter speeding, drink driving and other stuff.. Also they don't get to pick if they are going to be chasing crims or catching motorists, i'm assuming their bosses tell them what their doing for the night....
well said SirGeo, i also noticed this last night aswell though! there were toggies everywhere!! do you think maybe they are trying to "fly on shyte" approach to let people know that they mean business more than ever and that if you fcuk up, you will get caught?

I just dont appreciate that every time i take my car out at night. Driving normally and with all road rules that i get pulled over and my car throughly checked over.
They catch a lot of crooks by pulling people over and checking licences and regos.
Many people have outstanding arrest warrants or are driving somewhere to/from committing crimes and get caught this way.
Lots of people are doing the trifecta too: unreg, unlicenced and uninsured
Cops are also checking to see if you own the car you're driving: remember how we all complain about how many VLTs get stolen and want something done about it?
The cops are more consired about pulling P plate drivers over than stopin people house gettin brokin into, or old ladies gettin hit over the head for there cash.
Just the other nitght there was two car loads of me and my mates heading to the city. We got pulled over in Pahran by 6 cop cars in one hit, because some had reported that we where drag racing the princess hwy, and nearly hit some dude on a bike. Which was all BULLSh**.
Both cars got a nice yellow sticker. Even tho one was a stock as a rock VS Wagon.
