I recently obtined a VH SLE, already owning one VH when finding out about a relatives VH SLE i jumped at the chance of buying another. I Picked it up for a grand with the intention of doing the car up slowly. The current profile of the car is a standard VH SLE with blue velour interiour stringht six 202 engine running on petrol. My first proposal for this car is as following. 308 Motor gas conversion lowering mags etc. My main concern is the motor conversion, is it possible to put a 308 in this car keeping in mind that it has a 202 in it. Also what is needed to do this do I need other parts. Also I am on a severe budget so keep that in mind. Would this be too hard ? Or should I just sell the thing? Thanks in advance

the VH SLE came optioned with a 308 so getting it regged or keeping it regged won't be a problem, suspension and brakes would need to be upgraded, and most likely transmission and diff. The VH SLE are a scmick car with an awesome interior - I'd definately do one up if I had the chance! if you have the funds then go injected 304 you should always consult an Engineer b4 undertaking such a project.

My SL/E runs the 253 and shes sweet as. As I've seen, the 308 swap is fairly straight forward, and shouldn't cause too many hassles, although in your case, you might not find it that easy; I'm not sure what you mean when you say you are on a "severe" budget!?

Thank for your reply guys. I have however decided to keep her and slowly do the 308 conversion. Gav the meaning of the "severe budget" is that I only have money every now and then to spend on this project and dn't have unlimited funds.

your budget shouldnt be a problem...... most parts are dirt cheap for the VH, well, cheap compared to alot of other parts out there. you can do a lot of it yourself if you know how...... thats the beauty of those old engines, theyre so simple. ~TOM
