Guys just a quick suggestion, Why not lock every thread on the For Sale section like Street Commo's.com have done for thiers? I understand its nice to be able to read answers to previously asked questions but the author can always edit their original post to say what they left out. The big advantage is when you open the thread you only see the most recent posts. Not a post for a window wiper 13 people have replied to since it was started 2 weeks ago, and new posts for fresh stuff gets hidden in back pages. Just a suggestion- im more than stoked with the free service this forumn provides and happy to stay the way it is. :P Cheers Matty B

You answered your own question, it allows for people to read questions that have already been asked and hopefully answers. Most people would be too lazy to edit their original post anyway. Also Just because the item was posted 10days ago, doesn't mean it's sold. Also, although sometimes annoying, people might post that you could find the item somewhere else cheaper or closer to you. And as for new items being pushed to the back.. thats what bumping is for (now i don't want everyone to start bumping their stuff, once every 2 days is plenty). Cheers, Steve.

WeLLsY you've always had a thing againt streetcommo's.. But suggestions are good (even if their dumb.. i'm not saying this one is dumb.. but yeah..), helps change the site to what the users want.

OK this might sound pretty stupid but what exactly is bumping. I know it puts ur post to the top or somthing but why bump?

while i'm a new member on this forum i don't mind either system. the sc has the advantage of not having people with no money hassling you (most aren't bothered to PM you). but then again been able to post in the FS means if you left out something simple then you only have to reply to one public reply. not 100 pm's.... but the other thing is i reckon the average age here is higher unlike sc where it seems half the 14 yo's who read the mag have signed up...

Does exactly that, just moves it to the top of the first page. Because as said above if it's not posted in, it starts to move down the list and onto the next page.

i like the street commodore setup in the fact that no crap is posted and therefore prevents someones thread being wrecked. just my 2 cents.

I with Azza, but to narrow down what he means. Cars for sale section is becoming a battle ground people trying to sell theirs cars. You also have people selling or postin about cars that arnt even theirs, causing even more descusion about the worth of the car. Its supposed to be a 4 sales section for cars, not a bloody descusion about weather the car is worth the money or not. I'm guilty of it. So will stop now. However there are people in there destroying peoples posts. Would be nice to see this section that I belive is starting to turn people away from selling there car or asking questions about a car for sale. Lets get the negitive comments out of the 4 sales section.

Yeah I said something like this a while ago, make it an official member only or mod only thread. Or somehow make it so the author of the thread is the only person that can reply (so they can still bump/ update if need be) However with the right template for the section, so people don't say.. Car for sale: Red, 10k. They say 1988 VL RED SL, AUTO, 140thousand kms.. RECENTLY REPLACED, done this done that, pic is here and I'm located here.. Contact number is here.. PM OR call for details. That stops people from coming in and going, too expensive and a huge argument breaking out. Which then of course stops someone from coming in (a potential buyer) and going hmm, these people wouldn't pay that much, I thought maybe it was worth it, but apparently not.. And leaving. Lets face it - If someone is GENUINELY interested in the car or part, they will PM or call anyway. Instead of leaving idiot comments and flaming the crap out of the guy or what he's trying to sell. I reckon its a brilliant idea if you could get it to work properly. Still allowing the author to bump.. Or if nothings done maybe moderating peoples replies a bit more.. If a guy has 8k on his stock gemini, thats his problem.. Not reason for 100 people here to say what a joke and tell him off. My 1 dollar 50.

I'm suprised that a MOD/ADMIN dosent go in there and just delete the negitive threads or all threads that have nothing to do with the sale. And warn the authors of the offending thread. How hard?
