r these ball bearing turbo's? When do they come onto boost? do u need an external wastegate and what would be the max KW'S i could get out of this turbo? One last thing, what r the specs? sizes etc!

Yes these are ball bearing turbos. These turbos have been used on an RX7 s.5 20B tripple rotor engine for about five months and the car produced about 725 horsepower at the wheels. Boost kicked in at 5000rpm and external wastegates were also used. These turbos usually ran about 8-10 psi, since the car was used for circuit racing and not dragracing. The place in Melbourne that did all the work on the turbos has estimated that each turbo is easily capable of around 400-450 horsepower. In regards to the specs and sizes, I would have to ring the turbo place in Melbourne to find out for sure, however from memory: .57T Garrett Compressor wheel, .50A/R compressor, .63 A/R turbine.

5000rpm with a rotor isn't a lot dude. they'd be nice on a TT V8.

two large turbos on a rotor spooling at 5000rpm isn't actually that bad at all, if you knew anything about turbos you'd realise that one of these turbos would be a pretty good upgrade from a standard T03

A .50 a/r front compressor and .63 ex. housing would make it quite 'ideal' for a medium powered streeter. In fact, the .63 is quite tight for a 3.0l, and should keep it really torquey, depending on the turbine wheel clip/size. I think a .57T comp wheel combined with .50 A/R front housing will be around 10% more efficient than a stock TO4e front, and quick spool thanks to the ball bearing. If you could get them checked at a turbo shop before buying (seeing as they haved been raced) , theyd be a friggin bargain upgrade for a tough street VL. Think up to 230rwkw with mods. Water lines will be needed though, not a big job. Wish these were available a month ago.......its always the way huh? Imagine TWO on a lexus quad cam...

Yea dude, they got checked out yesterday by the guy that built them. The specs I listed earlier in this topic are the specs when these turbos were firstly bought. However, they have been modified since to suit the rotary and now have an .86 ex. housing and the compressor wheel is an E-type size. I've asked him about the mods you would need to fit it to an RB30 and he suggested that you would have to modify the inlet, outlet, dump-pipe and go for a smaller compressor wheel to around .64. P.S.: One turbo is already sold, the other one is still up for sale! Offers considered!!!
