ok fellas i got a little problem here
when i was getting my car fixed up the pannelbeaters said they would install a genuine holden bonnet and charged me $190 for it,
after i payed him for all the work and i drove the car home, about a week later when i was inspecting the car with some mechanic friends, they were all pretty sure that it wasnt a genuine holden bonnet, but a tiawanese one. i then took it to my bros friends workshops (3 of them) and they also thought it looked like a tiawanese bonnet not a holden 1.
in the australian legal system this is called negligent misstatment. he said 1 thing and that wasnt the case.
i later found out through my bro a genuine holden bonnet costs $250, and a tiawanes bonnet costs $130, so he is ripping me off
what i need now is a brand spankin new holden bonnet and it sprayed.
if i have to take legal action i will- my aunty is a lawyer so i got free legal advice. but the guys at this pannelshop ( i wont name the shop) are super dodgy and i have been told this business is not exactly legit, so i doubt he will want to goto court and get invesitgated by the ACCC or someone
but i am just wondering have any of u guys had a problem like this b4????
so technically hes gotta pay up
the next step is taking the car to holden to verify that is not a holden bonnet, once this is done, the pannelbeater is ****ed

another point i should note as some of u know, i had an origional HDT calais grill in the boot of my car while it was getting repaired, and it wasnt there when i got the car home
super super dodgy

where's the evidence of them taking it ? that ain't evidence dude...
but i feel sorry for you all the same, so annoying when **** just doesn't go your way...
if you knew they were super dodgy , why did you get them workin on your car ?
i guess these questions don't really help... just wondering if you found this out afterwards... have you confronted them about the bonnet thing yet ? take someone who knows their **** and can point out why it's a **** bonnet, tell them to replace it or you'll get really nasty, i.e legal action, chances are they'll comply.

$130 - $190.
Doesn't sound to much like a rip off to me, just him making a profit. He could have charged $250 if he wanted. You just got to make sure you didn't misunderstand when he said holden bonnet and just meant one designed for your car. either way I don't think the bonnet is gonna make a lick off difference when selling or anything for that matter. Either way hope it works out for ya.

yeah thought they were good pannelbeaters untill half way through the repairs i started to hear stuff,
yeah 130-190, ur right dump pipe, hes just making profit fair enuff
but he said im getting a genuine holden bonnet
and that didnt happen
i need the new bonnet so i can get my front a fresh spray (for free) as they have to paint the bonnet

i wouldnt be too worrid about the bonnet not being genuine but more about getting your grille back man. you should ask them about it

i would understand if they used twian guards as these are noway near as good as a genuine one, as for the bonnet i have one(twian) in my shed and i lined up my GMH one on my calais and i cant tell the difference, as for your HDT grille, im sure a body kit shop can get you one...

If he didn't actually take the grill I wouldn't bother going back..

So you got a non-genuine bonnet, and thats what you were charged for.
You're not complaining that they've done a sh|t job or that you got panels falling off your car or anything.
If they'd charged you for a genuine bonnet but given you the taiwanese one, then i'd understand, but really, I think you're clutching at straws trying to get more than what you deserve. IMO.
There are people out there who are really getting screwed when it comes to their cars. I dont think you're one of these people.
If you try to sell your car, you're not gonna have to worry about loosing a sale, because you got a taiwanese bonnet.
Its all the same sh|t, just a different smell!!
No offence intended Just my 2cents.
