Howdy all you sunny Melbournians. In October, me and my gf are goin to Melbourne for a week, reason being is for the MotoGP's at Philip Island. So we'd like to know what there is to do in melbourne on the days when we're not at phillip island, eg touristy ****. We'll hire a car (someones spare vlt would be nicer) and need to find some cheap accomodation. I went last year for 4 days, but all i did was drink LOTS of piss at Crown Casino (which was awesome - no good on the wallet though), saw a rugby game at telstra dome and was at Phillip Island for 3 days, so this year i'll do some extra ****. Any info is good dudes! Steven.

Have you been to the Telstra dome? Footy would be worth seeing. and maybe dinner along Chappel St, and watch the boys get harrassed, would be good for a laugh.

lygon st, brunswick st, chapel st etc. plenty of nice places to go for dinner and out etc. if you want to do the "touristy" thing hire a car, drive out to the dandenongs, go out to "Hanging rock" at Mt Macedon....

Rugby world cup match???, Were not talking the same footy!. I thought being from WA you'd know better!. hehe Markets, southbank, etc... I could spend a week in Melbourne and keep myself occupied just by walking around all the shops and stuff, soo much going on down there.

Nah really, Cheers at Casey's nightclub (Glenferrie) is always a winner on Tuesday nights, The Harp (Kew) isn't bad on Wednesdays, Room (Glenferrie) on Thursdays, any local pub on Fridays and anywhere in the City on Saturdays.... Also Oktoberfest at the showgrounds mite be on. Thats a winner for beer lovers!!!
