hi ppls i got a speeding fine on friday nite for 119 in a 80zone and lost my licence for 6mth 6 points and 360fine mind u the car that was rite up my arse was a silver car, so i put it in 3rd planted it...thats why i sped on my fine the cop wrote holden comm silver, my car is white with a purple pearl, so could i say he might have seen the silver car not mine on the radar and he caught me instead of the other silver car? the other thing when i got pulled over the cop goes "what were u doin mate draggin wth the silver car?" coz if he made a mistake like that he could have made any other mistake on my fine too....its worth a shot.......... any one kwow anythin abt this?? thanks

If he wrote silver and its cleary white(and easy to tell its white at the time of fine) choose the court option, write out a letter explaining that us cars white not silver, say you WERENT speeding and you think the officer has made a mistake. and see how it goes.

I did this successfuly. Got a ticket for speeding - cop said car was silver (on the ticket) - car was an Aqua colour (said Green on the rego cert I handed in for evidence). Took it to court and got the cop to read out what colour car it was - then argued that he targeted a silver car - my car was not silver therefore there is reasonable doubt that he did not target my car with the radar. Got the ticket thrown out.

So did you query this when he pulled you over ???????? If not then why not? White with a purple pearl can look all sorts of colours in different lights anyway

Take it to court, if it not a cut and shut case, and it's not beyond reasonable doubt that it's not your car they targeted... never know, might just win! not meaning to hi-jack, but out of curiosity, what happens if the cop writes down your home address incorrectly, I mean different street, different suburb and you refuse to pay the fine? To give a bit of background, my cousin was done speeding and the copper wrote down the address on the front of his license, not the ammended address on the back. He's also not payed the fine... this was 6 months ago. I've told him he's fcuked, what do you think?

I got targeted by a local officer around here once, i stopped at a stop sign and i make sure i do in JET, and he pulled me up down the road, i argued with him then gave up. Two days later i noticed that he put the wrong address as the place of incident, well guess what, in that intersection was no stop sign. I got let off, even tho i did no wrong i still had to waste my time to go to court The cops never looks at me now!

Mark & Matt, Did you have to pay court fees and how much was it?

I didn't bother writing a letter, just took it to court - then it surprises them that they have the wrong colour car and the judge makes the decision, not a superintendant at the cop shop who will then get his subordinants to start lieing in court in unison. Sin, because I won the case, I payed NOTHING - no court costs at all - however, I did have to take the day off work (I just rang in sick). Had I lost, I would have had to pay court costs (about $60) and the fine aswell (could have asked the judge for time to pay if need be too - more than the usual 28 days). Whatever you do NEVER EVER EVER say you were actually speeding. Be VERY sure you weren't speeding and that you were very surprised you were pulled up for speeding because you wern't. And be very specific about how you remember the details (ie, I remember this night very well because I was handed a fine for something I didnt do - which is very rare for me and sticks in my mind well as I keep thinking about how could I have been done if I wasnt speeding.) Also be prepared to bend over and cop it hard if the cop says you were street racing (maybe even say, it was the "silver car" and another car that was racing around you when you got pulled up). In saying so... If you are really guilty, then naughty naughty slap on the wrist, take what you deserve - this advice should only be used if you are innocent and have been wrongly given a ticket. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

he is tring to get off the speeding fine even though he was speeding and if it were me i'd be doing the same on the technicality, if they r stupid enough to slip up then take it to court, sounds like you have a good chance especially with a silver car sppeding behind ya.... just act all innocent in court, never except you were speeding etc.

so why wasnt he silver car also pulled over....the cop did imply that you were "dragging wth that silver car". i got a question as well. i got done about 6 ths ago, first time in about 6 yrs. i was out looking for a vltc ( now there's an omen ). was driving along road talking to wife about car we just looked at and an excel pulls out in front of me, i follow it for a few klms not really taking notice of my speed still talking cars. anyway next thing i know we come over a rise and at the bottom is a cop with a radar. he steps out waves the excel through and pulls me over. i was apparently doing 82 in what was apparently a 60 zone. i wont go into details of conversation but the excel was apparently doing 64 and here i was doing 82 behind that excel which i am certain i had been following for a few klms hmmmm strange. on my ticket he wrote that our car was a sedan when it was actually a hatchback it says on rego label. i was considering taking this one to court on that and also the fact that i was following the excel for yay far and it was a local car, i was in beerwah just nth of brisbane (sorta country town) . i reckon the cop waived through his mate and pulled me over. would have loved to have proved that. i did pay the fine cause i couldnt be stuffed going into court but i was wondering what you guys reckon. would i have got the fined thrown out on just the technicality of incorrect body or what? sorry to steal thread but no point in doing another one along same lines

So the cops have to be 100% spot on with the colour of your car, the body type as displayed on your rego and your address etc etc ????? If they aren't 100% then they are quote "stupid" unquote from VLT Dreamer But it's o.k. to lie about whether you were actually speeding or other details? Wake up boys if you're speeding and you get caught then YOU"RE stupid

thats true but the again the cops pick on certain cars and people and they are stupid for that. if ur driving a turbo car and ur racing sum1 in a normal family car the cop see's u... who is he gonna pull ova?? the turbo car. U should defend urself even if u did speed because cops target u and they wrongly accuse people all the time.

JET-6 lol.... aus880 - I agree with you mate, if you do the crime you should do the time, but some people lose jobs and their life when their licence gets suspended..... sounds like if they fill in the details incorrectly, you have a good chance of getting off. maybe someone whos a police officer and comes on the site can clarify... i think his user is "LOUD n LOW" ?

well the the thing being iv been pulled up for speedin b4 and i know i can be a ****head at times on the road but this time was different i only sped coz the car being me was so close he could have hit me, anyway i have 2jobs, go to uni and have my own business thats prob my main reason for tryin to gettin off on this technicailty! im gonna be ****ed if i lose my licence, and i definatly feel targetted coz im on my P's and the other car was fully standard and the dude was not on his P's or anythin, mind u when i jumped into the left lane and took a left i was doin 60 on the dot talk to my mate and the silver car when past me like 70-75 and then the cop car pulls up behind me with the lights on and i was like WTF? the other dude just went past me.... this is what im plannin on doin now, see a solicitor and get them to write a letter saying there are discrepancies and get my mate in the car with me to fill out a stat dec to say i wasn't speeding and the silver car was the one speeding and was tail gating me the whole way on the freeway. see how i go with that i guess

What happens in this situation? its a 3 lane road and theres 2 white vx commodores going next to eachother(example) and car #1 is doing 108 on a 100 zone and car #2 is doing the legal limit, the cop gets 1# on the radar doing 108, after he does that the comodores go ahead and change lanes, coz the cop was stationary at the time of the radar detection, it takes them time to catch up. and pulls over car number 2# wich was doing the limit wich is in the lane that car #1 was in and books him. then what? the radar doesnt get you rego.

well if it was anyone in the same boat as Ez-Dic an they were gonna loose 6 points and loose there license for 6 months i think anyone would take the coppers to court and pick them up on the mistake they made and keep ur license and no fine and lose no points
