i saw the "preview" when i got home at the end of the show. saw some guy in some car skiding up on the edge of the street surrounded by people he let go the brakes and spun it into a donut...missed em by what looked like mere inches!
its that **** that brings it down on us all...
i love a great burn out as good as the next guy but when you are surrounded by people just metres away from you, you sure as hell dont release the brake. think what that would do to us all if someone got killed. say goodbye to your right to drive a modified car. the sad thing is you can still jump into one of those 0-100 18 sec cars that i read about in the other thread and still smoke em up and do the same thing.
the cops were doing a sting and watching nearby and they waited for something to happen and jumped....
i sure am waiting to see this. i think its gonna make us all look bad
i saw VIC plates

05-06-04, 12:56 GMT+10#10 A mate who used to go down to the gold coast to all the "hoon spots" with his bike was there when today tonight did it once before a few years ago. He said there was 3 guys in a van with a cheap video camera saying they were from "extreme action videos" or something making a video of car and bike stunts and they asked them to do some burnouts and stuff for them. He wasnt stupid enough to do that kind of stuff but they got his mate popping a wheelie down the highway at about 200kays.

05-06-04, 13:06 GMT+10#11 Isnt that entrapment? By law, i think they should be telling you who they are and where they are from because TV reporters and their respective shows can get in deep crap.

Thats actually happened a few times down here. They usually get some tool that goes along with it.

And this is why these stories 'get legs' and are regularly run.
There are fools out there that do stupid things in cars and on bikes ( like the guy you talk about above doing 200kays)
Until they stop doing it, the media and police will keep targeting that behaviour and rightly so, because the majority of the public (including people on this site) recognise that it's dangerous not only for themselves but all other motorists.
