Just read the Gregory's, and it says to use a suitable steering wheel remover to take it off, not to bash it..... What can I use to remove the wheel, is it really that hard? Will my arms yanking it suffice? Also, it is necessary to purchase a boss kit for a replacement (non Holden) steering wheel?? ***** Minor Aside ***** - Also got a gear knob, but my old one doesn't seem to wanna twist off.... they Do come off, don't they???

sometimes you need a puller, but if you dont have one, just take the retaining nut off and spray a bit of lub on the treads, let is penetrate and you should be able to wobble it off by moving it side to side

if you don't have a puller then after you've taken centre nut off, hit either side of the wheel hard with the palm of your hand, like at 4 o'clock and 7 o'clock positions, one side at a time, that should dislodge it from the column!

Yep sounds good, if its the stock wheel it'll take alot of wriggling. As for the gearknob, I'm 99% sure it twists off..

dont totally remove the retaining nut, leave it on a couple of threads so you dont hit yourself in the head when the wheel finally comes off

well what you do is have your arms strait and move you hole body then when it comes off you will hit the seat with you back and not your head with the steering wheel..

I'm not sure it's a good idea to be pulling really hard on the steering column, it could damage it. Using a puller is a safer, less destructive way to get it off.
