hey, if i do an upgrade to the VT brakes, do i NEED to change the master cylinder? do i NEED to change the booster? If so, where/what models would i find the required parts and how much? Mines Drums at the rear, if in the future i got a disk rear end, would that effect the master cylinder ? And if i did change it now, would it be good enough for when the rears are also done? Thanks. Mat

do i NEED to change the master cylinder? Yes you need a 1" do i NEED to change the booster? No Need, I'm still running a N/A If so, where/what models would i find the required parts and how much? VL Turbo/V8 Models from VL to VR all have 1" masters Mines Drums at the rear, if in the future i got a disk rear end, would that effect the master cylinder ? No ,Not at all And if i did change it now, would it be good enough for when the rears are also done? Rears being disk or drum only do about 10% of braking, rest is done on front

would it be better to get a VLT 1" so it will bolt into the booster? or are they all the same, I was thinking, that the VLT one might be a better buy because it will bolt into the booster without any mods. true? Where in Melb are you CHAMRA1; i might be looking to buy some brakes off ya in about 4 weeks.

Vt Brakes are heaps better then the single piston Turbo setup , Even with standard pbr pads they pull up heaps better then VL Turbo's ,Also the Vls are 300kg lighter then the VTs so they pull up very good on a lighter car . Techicaly any mods that differ from stock needs an engineers ,but so many of us have fitted these and also passed RWC without an engineers ,Including myself. All 1" master cylinder from VL to VR bolt upto a VL booster . I'm located in Fawkner ,Vic ,just off the ring rd .

Complete kits for a VL are $400 with standard rotors,$460 slotted and $500 Crossdrilled /slotted. Have everything in stock at the factory in Fawkner. Adapter hubs alone are $200 a pair.

Just a quick question Charma, I have a V8 VL n/a, wit 4 disc brakes.... Is it worth me upgrading to VT brakes? What extra's will i need? What price will i be looking at, itemized if possible. Thanks.

Worth it , Yes for sure at Complete kits for a VL are $400 with standard rotors,$460 slotted and $500 Crossdrilled /slotted. Your V8 should already contain the 1" master cylinder ,But if not then you will need it . Otherwise everything else is in the kit . Brakes are sold in a Kit at a discounted price , If I was to itemise every part with a price then it will be more $$$ . Kits include: 2 VT Rotors ( standard or slotted or slotted/crossdrilled) 2 Adapter hubs (fitted with bearing cones and studs)Bearings with seals are $30 extra 2 VT Twin piston Calipers 2 Hoses to suit . 1 set of standard pbr pads . Fitting instructions if needed .

I had the VT upgrage done to my old VLCT (RIP. Even the brakes didn't pull me up in time!) and the total cost was $1100. It's a damn good upgrade to do, esp if you wanna do mods. It might cost a tiny bit more now as the VT isn't the current model anymore...

R8 brakes are Twin piston C5 calipers with 330x32mm rotors . Although they look simular they would pull up the heavier VX Cluby better then my kits , because the rotors are bigger and allow more heat soak under hard braking . But soon I will have Twin piston 330mm kits available too .Just getting them engineered at the moment .
