Hi, I am currently running the VLT calipers, with EBC greenstuff pads front, Bendix Performax pads rear, with BDA slotted rotors front and back, Penrite race brake fiuld(setup very similar to post "Better Brakes - How ?"). The car stops very, very quickly. Basically from people who have a good idea on the issue would I gain much brake performance from a front VT brake upgrade? Any comments would be great.

if you got VT with the same pads / fuild, on the street, you will just have a softer pedal / less effort basically. the VT calipers have bigger pad area, this gives u more pad life.

the rotors being also slightly larger will have a greater ability to absorb more heat and dissipate more heat.. so again.. u will have better pedal.. more bight, a larger calliper and rotor, with a greater surface area of the pad in contact with the rotor. With the same good quality pads and fluid you are using.. u will have quite a good setup.. plus.. if u have big wheels.. u'll also have more respectable looking brakes behind them.

The rotor on the VT is also thicker which makes a difference.

Thicker, bigger diameter rotors will have the ability to diasapate more heat, but normally on the street, its the fluid and pads that cook up. using real fluid and club type pads will be fine with the std set up.

Thanks for the input, do you think the outlay of the cost is worth it for a street/strip car? I mean longer pad life is always good, but do you think they will stop me much quicker?

can you lock up the tyres at 100kph now? do you experience fade now?

The system is good now no problems locking up at speeds in excess of a 100kph, haven't experienced fade but I'm usually not flogging my brakes. I have given a them a very hard time a couple of times, for about 30 minutes a piece no fade. Before I did up the brakes they used to fade really easy.
