Hey guys,
i got pulled up last night and was told that i would be fined if i didnt move my number plate back to the centre of my car. I was under the impression that i could have it anywhere on the front as long as it was clearly visable??
The copper said that it has to be on the very front of the car and as the bumper bends at the sides, the very front would be in the centre. I didnt get pulled up for that, i was 'letting off a bit of steam'.
Does anybody know if that is the law or what??
Anyway I moved it back to be in the good books and if thats the law then hopefully you guys who have moved your plates now know also.
Lata fellas

I think it might be if you get pinged by a radar and the plate is on the right, it makes it harder to see (spank really).

dude thats totally untrue. It has to be a minimum of (x?cm) off the ground, and it doesnt matter where the **** it is on the front bumper. Ring up your local DPI tech section and theyll fill you in

yeah it doesnt make a lick-a-**** difference where the plate is on ya car..
A customer of mine analyses the radar photos and hands out the fines to those norty ppl that speed.
He said that across 4 lanes of freeway traffic they can still ping you if ur on the very right with the plate on the far right side..
Cops what use are they... no brains to become one

It was something like 11 or 144cm's up or down is the max you can move it,thats what a cop said to me.I've been flashed and got done to.
When I got asked by a cop my plate should'nt be on the side I said it's been over the pit's twice and a engineer and they did'nt say anything,so he said thats ok then,WTF,I was'nt lying to him but if i was he let me go *shrugs*

09-06-04, 21:13 GMT+10#12 next time ya get pulled over and they try and defect ya for anything i think legally they should have to produce and show you the law which you are supposably breaking written down in there imaginary fluffy fairy law book!
I got pulled over a few months ago whilst cruzing down the city center by a couple of WA's finest, MR fantastics, i have the power, jus wait a minute an slow down we have highly developed beer guts an couldn't catch you on foot even if we got our precious v8s bak PIGGY's! they spotted my 4" magnaflow resonator hangin out da back of me sweet vL and glistening in the street light and pulled me over faster then you can say defect me, made me start and rev my car to prove it wasnt illegally loud! being turbo it was quiet as a bee and they let me go which left them standing on da kurb scratchin there ever so hollow anti-mechanically minded undersized heads! need i say more.we have all been there. i am now considering seriously goin sleeper mode!

10-06-04, 14:01 GMT+10#13 just question what they are doing and why and what law is being broken cause if they dont know take their badge number which you are legally allowed to take and report them to their superiors. if they refuse to give their badge number take note of the vehicle number. because refusal of giving their badge number is breaking the law. same with bouncers at night clubs
