i have a VR stato, and latley there has been a horrible scraping sound coming from the rear left wheel. i took the wheel off and had a look, but there is plenty of brake pad left on there, and there doesnt seem to be anything stuck in there either.... also the calipers arent touching the rotor. but there are still marks all over the rotor where something is going wrong. does anyone have any idea what the hell would be causing this?? its got me stumped. it started after i got my wheels aligned, by the way, and i am going to take it back to the tyre mart, but they reckon that the brakes are nothing to do with them. and help is greatly appreciated. cheers.

tighten up ur anchor plate bolts u did check the pad wear on both sides of the calliper didnt u... as they dont usually wear equally.. the side u looked at might be fine, the the other couldbe on the backing plate.... have u a broken pad in there ?? best way is just to take it apart for a good inspection..shouldnt take long, and u'll probably be able to identify the problem. Ollie Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
