Yeah I believe it went to the nats....as a guy drove past a servo while I was filling up and yelled out that he knew the previous owner, and drove with him to the nats in it! I've only had it for 4 weeks....have spent about 2.5K so far getting Speed Technologies in Mitcham to help me iron out all the gremlins (and have done a bunch of work with a mate also)
- new brake booster and added a 1 way valve to prevent blasting boost into it
- rewired the extra injector which wasn't wired properly (car was leaning out under boost)
- added a mounting bracket for turbo air intake as it was flopping about like a c0ck in a s0ck
- did the power steer conversion (ooh nice
- removed and repaired an improperly fitted spark plug which was installed half way in on an angle with the thread stripping a helicoil which was in there
- repaired a stuffed o2 sensor
- replaced a stuffed clutch slave cyl mounted on the wrong angle with a new one in the right spot
- repaired crappy fusible links to battery
- replumbed cooler piping to fit power steer, and some decent industrial strength pneumatic hose clamps on
- gave it a decent service
- replaced throttle body which had a loose butterfly screw (scary - might've swallowed the screw if on there for a few more months - ouch!) and a stuffed idle screw (someone had araldited the screw in place coz they'd broken off part of the throttle body where it mounted!) with a replacement
....and now its running sweet as. SO much better than a few weeks ago
The guy I bought it off was a nice bloke, but whoever he got to work on the car (or perhaps whoever the previous owners had got to work on it) did some pretty ordinary work...lots of corners cut and glaring issues just ignored. Anyway - its getting better by the week. Now I'm off to centre the wheel properly, and repair a tiny air leak in the boost bleed tap....
One day soon once I've paid for some of the latest repairs - I'll actually get a race seat in it, put some better brake pads in, repair the lash in the diff, and take it to the race track - hmmm its going to take a few months at this rate!

Oh yeah - also totally reworked the heater controls so they all work properly and the little vacuum switch works....got an autoelec mate to help fix a bunch of wiring issues and some melted fuses (someone had run a crazy stereo amp at some point I reckon and drawn WAY too much power through fuse box....). Replaced a range of 25amp fuses with their lower rated proper ones (no wonder wiring gets b&ggered up when people mask issues by stuffing higher rated fuses in).
